PBR: First you need to decide on what you want:

-Revolver, Pistol, Polymer Pistol etc

-Then you decide on caliber...some glock calibers are glock specific.  They are awesome calibers but they are hard to find and expensive.

-9mm is right for me because I get boxes of 50 for $9.99 from walmart, thats cheaper than most anyone on here will find ammo.

-9mm is easy to shoot and also easy to hand load.

-I can successfully double tap on a body sized mass and get great groups with 9mm, from about 15 yards.

In the end its your choice, but I will sway you towards 9mm because its my favorite for practicality, reliability and defense.

I got two boxes of Federal 9mm for $9.47 at WalMart last night. I'm almost thinking I should have gone with .40 though since they always have a lot more of it.

Couch and yacqueli

It's down to the Glock 17 and Glock 22, I just can't decide on caliber. Couch when I get my glock can you mill the barrel like yours?

As long as you only send me the barrel and slide, yes.

I'd go with the Glock 22 and if you REALLY want to shoot 9mm, just swap the barrel and magazine out and you're good to go. It doesn't work the other way around though as far as I know. Now you basically have a G17 & G22

I don't want to go to prison. I like the 3rd Gen's a lot more than the 4th Gen's. My biggest tip for you though is to get a Brooks Tactical A-Grip kit for it. It made a world of difference. I liked the way my G27 felt before, and I LOVE the way it feels now. The serrations in the front and rear straps on the Gen 3's are a bit rough.

Have fun deciding that one.  It took me like 5 months to finally settle on 9mm.

If the option of having more than 10 rounds per mag was available I may have second guessed the caliber. I went with the biggest round I could fit in a flush mag on a sub compact. I can always stick a longer mag in there if legal, and I can always swap out barrels to a smaller round if I'd like. That's why I went with the G27.

Ah yes that is a very good point, Couch.  If you went with a G22 you could always buy a conversion kit to make it 9mm.

9mm vs. .40 is a difference of one or two bullets. Im leaning towards the .40 and getting a 9mm barrel

Here is something to look at if you go that route.

Or HERE.

From what I've read, Storm Lake makes some of the best. I have no first hand experience though.
