The comment seems a bit silly. It is either a justified shooting or it isn't.
Police use shotguns, m16s, and handguns. They also shoot the best rounds available. I can't imagine what one would be shooting to have more powerful ammo than the police.
Either way, I keep Federal HST ammo loaded for self-defense. Found a couple of boxes locally right after it turned "for LEO only".

Good example of how guns can be good.
A man tried to rob a store, told the 8 people inside to lay on the floor, shot the clerk twice and then a armed customer shot the robber and called the police.
No one died.

It happens all the time. These incidents just don't get much media attention.
But that guy is still a paranoid freak and should not have been carrying a gun since he probably hadn't needed to use it before.
