I was just looking at those AR lowers this morning. So damn cheap! I don't really care for AR's all that much but I want to build one. I'm going to order one of those in a couple days.

I have a remington 7600 in 30-06, the carbine w/ the 18.5" barrel. Took my first deer with it in November. Also have a remington 870 Express supermag, 12gauge, that I use to hunt partridge and rabbits.

my state has the most lax gun control laws in the U.S (tied with alaska I think), a very strong hunting culture and lots of gun owners, and very little violent crime (just 5 murders state-wide in '09, none of which involved firearms).

I have guns for hunting, I'm not worried at all about the whole self-defense thing, but if there where a baddie in my house late one night the 870 could serve that purpose.

Its about six inches tall. That was with my .22 at 125 yards.

Hey I live in Canada and im 19, what is it like to get a gun licence and how much money is it?

Do you have to go through a lot of bullshit to get it? I have shot guns before when I was younger and think ill get one in the future (when I have money).

any thoughts?

They are just like AR15s...low quality, basic functioning weapons made of cheap metal. They are cool but not high quality by any standards.

I'm not sure on caliber, but I am getting a RRA stripped upper, flat top, with forward assist port and dust cover, then getting a bull barrel, 20 inch chrome lined. A2 stock with hidden magazine in stock, and then flip up irons with some kind of mid range (less than 200 yd) optic.
