Kind of digging the Polish P-64 Pistol 9X18Cal

Can get one for around $180, but not sure how common 9X18 ammo is.

I have a feeling that purchasing my first gun (I have a gun, but it was a gift, so I didn't choose it) is going to be like trying to choose a first tattoo.

Alright, I found a PA-63 9mm Makarov about 50 miles from me for $175... I've read a few things on this gun, it seems most people like them.

Good deal? Anyone here have one or have any experience with them?

Yeah they are good guns and 9x18 is easy to find at gun shops, cabelas/bass pro, and online.  You will not find this ammo at walmart or any big stores like that.

I don't know if the safety also acts as a decocking lever, so I would check into that.  If it has no decocker, then doing it manually is a bitch and dangerous, especially for a carry gun.

They also only hold 7 rounds, You can get a compact glock in 9mm that holds a lot more.

9x18 is significantly less powerful than 9x19.

The money spent on ammo to feed this gun will probably add up quickly, I would go with a more common caliber for a carry gun...because practice is key.  Unless you reload which I don't believe that you do.

My advice is to find something better suited.

Shit I completely forgot about Kel Tec.

Good idea.  I really want an RFB, if they ever come out with it.

People at TheHighRoad recommended the p11 when I posted a thread with guns I could possibly afford.

I've read quite a few reviews and it seems to be a pretty decent gun. Small, easy to conceal, 9mm so affordable and available ammo, and holds 10+1 so I'll be that much more ready for the worse.

Since today is the 4th, I think a buddy and I are about to go out to the range and bust up some cardboard zombies with the ol' Ruger.

Its common knowledge illegal immigrants have thinner skin then us badass Americans. So you should have no problem using your little pocket knives slashing them, so no gun is needed. (Unless they're throwing rocks at you, then fire at will)
