I get russian steel by the crate and yugo brass on stripper clips by the crate.  Real cheap and something like 1200 rounds for $169 delivered.

The yugo on strips is ideal for the SKS because you just grab a strip and load.

I get Herters/wolf/brown bear from cabelas for 1.99/20.  When I want to shoot a lot and plan on detail cleaning the gun, I shoot corrosive.  When I just shoot a little and plan on running a snake and calling it a day, I shoot wolf/non corrosive.

Don't buy brass unless you are shooting to find the most accurate stuff or hunting.

The U.S. made ammo for x39 is under loaded, just like EVERY US made ammunition.

The old yugo is the best IMO.

Yes its the same as wolf.

My DPMS with light tolerances/not a tight fit anywhere on the gun, took it fine.

My buddies RRA Elite Operator jammed so bad and then snapped the head off of the bolt carrier.  I would stick to brass if its a nice, tight AR.

Up here you can get 1120 round crates of 7.62x39mm for $200 of the corrosive czech mill surp. I haven't come across any cheap non-corrosive ammo for it yet, and hunting rounds are about $22/20 rounds. Sks's just plain look cool, just a big knife with a gun attached to it.

there a mil shop in new west that sells non corrosive for pretty cheap.

I want to trade my SKS in for a 10/22 for grouse hunting this fall eventually. Never shoot the thing anymore, but I will be checking out the store some time soon, thanks. Is Westley Surplus the place your talking about?

You are allowed to shoot grouse with a .22?

Not been around on here of late, since I don't ride any more, but the guns thread never fails to deliver...

Here's some of my toys... All replicas since I live in a gay country, but it's the best I can do!

Desert Warrior... Basically a 1911 lower with a custom STI style slide on it...

Magpul PTS Masada/ACR - I'm in the process of modding it to look more like the production Bushmaster ACR... Since this pic I have a sweet Garmin Fortrex401 strapped on the stock, which is cute.

AK74M - Yes, I have committed a sin and stuck a Magpul MVG on the front of it, what can I say, I like to shoot with a grip? Gonna get me a wooden Romanian style foregrip though, just to escape the haters! Technically the mags are wrong too, since it has a 74 flash hider.

Magpul M4 with Daniel Defence 12.5" rail and extras (AFG2, Surefire LLC QD suppressor, Aimpoint  Comp M4)

Beretta PX4 and a little bit of TAD gear...

Glock 18c in it's Crye Precision Gun Clip, which is amazing, for MOLLE or belt carry.

This is airsoft?  Looks real.

Get a romanian dong lower hand guard, on the ak.  To make it correct it would also have a wire side folding stock.

I am going to be buying a pistol in January and I am kinda torn between 2.

It will either be a Desert eagle 50AE

Or a 1911.

What are good 1911 company's? Obviously colt is one. I did find a colt 1911 legit for sale. It's used and selling for $700. What about spring field? or Taurus? I found a 1911 Taurus for sale for $650 new. Not sure if I like the look though.

Thanks.

never shot a desert eagle but i dont know if the .50 is going to be as much all around fun as the .45.  the desert eagle will cost more and will cost more to shoot.  I a biased though, i am a big 1911 fan.  Colt is good, so is springfield. If you have the money it would be cool to get a kimber.

Desert Eagles are pointless.  They are ridiculously heavy, ridiculously huge and expensive to shoot.

1911's are still one of the best designs for a pistol.  Like Farva said... you can't go wrong with Colt, Springfield, or Kimber.
