Difference of opinion here, but I'd never concealed carry my XD. The single action trigger isn't that long and the gun is fully cocked at all times. One snag on the trigger during a draw or reholster = accidental discharge. I'd open carry it all day in a duty holster and I trust the gun 100%.

Hence me CC'ing a DAO gun with a very long trigger. Very hard to get an AD when there is a 3/4" trigger pull.

Its got a grip safety wich i really like, wich seems a little safer.

Bird,

What did you for the the Glock 19? I really don't believe in 9mm, unless your target shooting. Although I wouldn't mind a 19 that's full auto with the 33 round mag.

Havent shot the KSG, it belongs to the shop I work at.  I molested it a few minutes.

I paid very little for the G19.  With ballistics and technology of today there is nothing wrong with 9mm.  All the horror stories are filled with FMJ and bad ballistics.  I can get 4 shots off in center mass very quickly with 9mm.  With .45 or .40 Im a little more all over the place.

Most places I've come across are selling them for the same price or very slightly more than the black ones.

If you truly fear that you'll shoot yourself you either need more training or you shouldn't be carrying. You need to be 100% comfortable with the weapon and trust that it was designed and built well.

what about variables i can't control? from family and friends being in close physical contact with me, small children (obviously not planning to carry around small children ever, but short unplanned encounters could happen at any time), clothing (though when carrying my clothing is specifically chosen to avoid this, but there is always a chance), slipping on something, etc. I feel as though there are many uncontrollable variables that could make a pistol go off. It is not that I don't trust myself, but being a very involved and active person I tend to get nervous about it.

Just my 2 cents

My CC is a DAO as well, so I suppose that's always a safety measure I have, still I feel as though you can't be too cautious.

Why don't you like 9mm? Or do you mean you don't like the glock 19 in 9mm?
