I spent all weekend shooting my old 22lr and I think I want to just jump in a get a solid bolt action rifle to learn some precision long range shooting.  I was wondering if I should just get a cheap sub $300 .308 rifle scope combo like the Savage axis xp and the Mossberg 100 atr, or if I should just shell out some more cash and go with a nice Remington 700 sps 24" with a Mueller tac 2 for around $850 that my local shop has?
Get it?

My first time with a table. It was slow. Saw Couch and helped get a new hand guard on his pistol.

Made myself a bedside rack, the wife kept asking what the point of having a shotgun for intruders was if its kept down in the closet so this solves the problem. (yes I know the storage laws, I just had the gun out and used it for the pictures, it is legally stored.)

It sits on the other side of the bed by the wall so its very hidden.

No problem with keeping a shotgun like that while you're at home, in bed.
