My cat that was also 16 left home and I haven't seen him for a month now. He was getting pretty old, but he would always, always come back inside after a few hours his whole life.

I've heard that when some animals know they're about to pass away, they will just wonder off into the distance and let mother nature take it's tole. R.I.P. Tucker. :(

Well, I arrived home today and one of my neighbours came out of the house to talk to me, another one of the families on the road found our cat limping around the back garden, fed it and left it in our kitchen. So happy. He smells slightly of cigarettes though, so who knows what the craic was! So pleased.
