After some evaluation, the frame was not cracked! Woohoo. However, I found out that I like my mothership far more than the beacon. I have a friend riding a mothership v2 that fancy's my beacon and we are going to swap to try it out. So stay tuned for a very different looking bike than the last couple bike checks

Custom PiR Handle bars for the Flatland bike. Over the years i have tried numerous bars & got to know what sort of geo i like so they feature that obviously. The look is basically a KHE Swiss Miss bar/stem combo with out the built in stem. Theyre gunna be welded up shortly & the forks should be started pretty soon too!

^rad!

I started rawing my frame today. I was determined to do it without stripper, but after a good hour and a half of just sanding with 150 grit sandpaper I've only got 2/3rds of the left CS and half of the left SS done. Looks like I'm gonna have to find a good stripper...

With enough lube and brute force, anything is possible.

Sanding it will make it look like shit anyway, stripper and wire wool (if necessary) means that it'll be decent looking raw metal, not a scratched to shit mess.

I didn't think 150 grit would scratch it up too too much, especially since I was planning on polishing it afterwards but you're probably right.

What strippers do you guys recommend? Someone told me a while back that a company called "Circa 1850" made a nasty paint stripper, but all I can find is this stupid "furniture stripper"...

Getting through paint with that would suck though, that's what I meant.

I assume his was painted? Mine's going well with the de-rusting, bought a buffing wheel drill bit today to get shiny. Should be fun.

Can you get Nitromors in Canada? It's like some weird gel stuff that you brush on, leave for a bit, brush more on, leave for a bit, brush more on etc. and the paint just falls off. Leaves you with perfect untarnished raw metal. Stings like a bastard if you get it on your skin though.
