Anyone else had a frame with an integrated headset that required tapping the bearings (a couple taps with a rubber mallet) into the head tube? Every other frame I've owned I was able to push the bearings in by grabbing on the opposite end of the head tube and using my thumbs to get the bearing to seat.

I'm guessing it's phosphoric acid based. That stuff has to soak in to work and requires multiple coats. It'd be hard to use on a BMX frame cause it'd just drip off. It says non-drip so it might work, but I have a feeling it still will. If it actually stays on the tube let me know because I'd be interested in picking up some. I used similar stuff on the floor of my car and had to let it soak for hours, wire wheel it, and repeat a couple times.

If you soak it in clean motor oil and let it bake in the sun (or a warm lamp since you're in England) a little it'll turn the rust brown and slow it down. That's what I did to my S&M and I love how it turned out. Or use a brass wire wheel to polish the bare steel, then oil it.

Which is why I suggested a warm lamp. An incandescent bulb decently close should work well enough.

What do you guys use to lube your chain and how well does it work?

I've been using the White Lightning waxy type stuff but it doesn't last very long until my chain starts squeaking again.

I use 3-in-1 electric motor oil. (the blue one)

It works nice, and it gets kind of sticky after a while and turns into a gum sort of substance that coats the teeth on my sprocket and driver. I believe this is because it's vegetable based, but I'm not sure. I probably re-apply it every few months, or whenever I ride in the rain.

Teflon is best for chains and brake cables.

I've been using this on freecoasters for a few years, works great:

Still have the same tube I bought over 3 years ago. I've also been using it on cranks, headset bearings, bearing seats, hub bearings, etc.
