I think that possibly outside of bikeguide, a lot of people might want removable mounts.

Shit, I want removable mounts.  I'm flakey like that.  Sometimes I want brakes, other times I don't.

Don't you even dare hypothetical green box Borklynrider.

He earned it, despite his past misgivings.

While I personally don't hate FBM's removable mounts (I was able to get the ones on my T-1 to feel great with some Teflon tape and better bolts) the market for an AOD will probably prefer welded mounts.

what style mounts do fbm use? the s&m style ones with the really long bolt are good. the ones where the mount screws in first then the brake screws into the mount are not so good
this year i am going to have sex and it will be awesome

I don't want brakes on my fantasy Angel of Death.

They are similar. The base is curved to match the CS tube, and there is a long bolt that runs through it that also tightens the brake spring cap. I got higher grade bolts that were coated (phosphate?), then Teflon taped the threads and the shank of the bolt inside the mount. Those changes seemed to take out some of the flex and now they feel great.

Is there actually a structural benefit of that TT/CS junction design?

You mean a wishbone versus A-frame style?

Yes. BGing at work limits my brainpower. Sorry.

I wonder what the geo is going to be?  Looks like it's got a short rear end, which would be perfect for the types of dudes I think will buy this frame.

My Barcode is noticably stiffer than my ATF.  It was really weird at first.

According to one esteemed frame builder, the wishbone is actually a stiffer design. Not sure what the difference in weight is though.
