Rough Hub Rolling
« on: December 19, 2014, 01:30:13 AM »
I'm amassing a collection of parts for a build I have coming together, and I picked up a pair of Antigram hubs, which are awesome (or so I'm told).
I haven't laced them up yet and I've noticed that the front hub is really rough in places when I roll it in my fingers. What's the deal? Is this a tension issue, i.e. once it's laced the spoke tension will relieve the pressure on the bearings, or should I look into warranty before I build these suckers up?

Are they new? The bearings need to break in a bit. Spoke tension will help and you will feel a lot less grittiness when you're actually riding it.

IT'll be fine once it's a wheel.

Sounds good then. It's a brand new hub and I expected it to be a bit more smooth.

Nah, everyone had the same issue with their vandero 2. Just odyssey.
