Anyone picking up a Z-Coaster?
« on: February 26, 2015, 08:53:19 PM »
They are supposed to drop soon and seem pretty good. I've never been a freecoaster guy but I feel like I want to make a change. Their design seems solid.

Please elaborate on how solid their design is, I have yet to see any details or internal pictures.

If it's not working right, can I fix it by putting the hub in the freezer overnight? Confirm/Deny

Boggles the mind that they can't make front hubs properly, let alone a cassette, and yet they try their hand at a coaster

History has proven getting first run of a new coaster is never a good idea.

Coaster release dates are the most uncertain thing in the universe. Dont believe it to be released in this decade.

^ This.

I haven't had any bad luck with Profile, but I'll be waiting for someone else to buy one in my area and see what happens before I make a decision. I was told the later batches would have a 10t driver option as well, so I'd probably be stuck waiting anyway.

I think I might buy one.  I have to admit my curiosity has got the best of me.

History has proven getting first run of a new coaster is never a good idea.

The thing here is however that Profile make the coaster in house. So the risk of them shipping out mass-produced coasters with a small flaw is minimized.

Could still have some production flaw, but the risk is probably way smaller than from companies working with taiwanese factories

I always imagine profile as being the pinnacle of BMX product quality. I have myself only had the race cranks, which bends quite easily I guess...

Also had a friend on the Porter Ti sprocket that just randomly exploded.
