I live on a coastal plain so the terrain 40 miles in every direction is almost completely flat. It also means that it is almost always pretty windy. Not ideal for road riding. The only climbs around are the bridges that cross the bays and those that connect the barrier islands to the mainland. A few are quite steep. Today was windy as fuck even by our standards and I caught a mean tail wind riding up and, more importantly, down one of the steepest bridges, I was going fast as fuck. I must have hit 60-65mph. It was terrifying. Easily one of the scariest things I've done on a bike. I'm glad I'm rolling on 35s because those roads are not smooth.
