Cheers for the tips lads! I'm currently smashing off some vodka on the train to London that will definitely be regretted in the morning. I've borrowed the demo Mio from work (which has a fucking dreadful mapping function when you are trying to pre plan on the computer) that should take us a nice route straight to our favourite pub in Warwick. Will post in here how I get on.

Fresh chain, cassette, cables and bartape. I think I need a white saddle.

We did the ride yesterday and it wasn't too bad. Realised how crucial eating was about 3-4 miles before our 60 mile stop when my energy dive bombed but I soon sorted it out with a bacon sandwich and sausage roll. Ended up doing 103.9 miles with 4053ft of climbing in 6hr 56mins which is slow, but none of us had cycles over 40 miles before so we're happy.

Good time for a first century with that much elevation. You definitely learn a lot on the way, just gotta keep doing the miles.

A 70 mile ride is going to feel easy now!

Rode 50 miles yesterday and it felt short after the century last week. You did well good Danno, considering you were up drinking the night before haha.

Been thinking about building up a relatively cheap XC style hardtail for bezzing about local woods and trail centres on, keep the fitness up when I can't be arsed going out on the roadbike in Winter / Spring, reckon I might get a chinese carbon frame, I know there's always horror stories but after trawling forums and websites all last night the response seems to be 99% positive towards them. Probably go with the M8000 XT groupset and some second hand Rock Shox or something. Probably Superstar wheels.

There's loads of frames on Chain Reaction for so little money. I'd recommend any of those over a Chinese carbon one.

This is my friend's bike he built from there. Looks well good in person and probably won't drop to bits.

Ah yeah, looks good, similar to what I was planning. Spoke to my bro in law, he works at Pace and might be able to sort me out with a frame so fingers crossed, that would be ideal, maybe wangle some DT Swiss forks off him too.

They're likely to be warranty returns so probably on the same level!

Bottlerocket looks sick.
