La Harve or Cherbourg?

Personally I'd probably manage it in 12 days. Thats 10 days riding and 2 rest days. But I won't be the one setting the pace.

Funny enough I've been reading up about cycling in Paris and it sounds to be a nightmare. I've become not so fond of it myself. I'm starting to think about sticking to the France/Belgium border.

I've refined the possible route a little. The last stretch from Luxembourg to Roubaix takes us through some national parks. Starting/finishing ferry port might change slightly.

The big bridge above Amsterdam is 32km long and has a cycle lane. Sounds pretty unique.

New haven to Dieppe. Quiet as anything. That second route looks mega.

Hugh how many litres worth of storage did you take on your 3 month tour?

Looks cool alright. Would be fun to integrate some off tarmac sections into it. Not anything like rough singletrack but more dirt trails through the forest. Would depend on what bikes people are using though.

Brought a set of Ortlieb front and rear roller classics. 40l each at the rear and 12.5l each at the front. So 105l total I guess.

EDIT Its 40l total for the rear and 25 total for the front. So 65l all together. My bad.

Didn't use a bar bag and just strapped my sleeping bag and tent to the top of my racks.

Would be cool to head south west from London, through the Surrey Hills then along the coast via Hastings to Dover.

Bear in mind I'm just looking at a map here so i have no idea if these places are desirable. Would be cool to visit the white cliffs area though.

London > Surrey > Sussex > Kent would make a lovely route

I ran ahead a bit and hid, dropped my jeans and took my top off and started chasing them whilst spraying beer all over them and making weird noises.

Take me along. I'll probably be awkward the whole time and scare away all the hot european women.

Three of us are planning on riding to Bruges this summer, so could combine part of that with you all if the dates and route work out. Theres supposed to be a nice route up the coast from Calais.

That would be sweet. What are your plans? Roadbikes and camping?

Not quite as touring as you lot! We will be on road bikes but I think two others are gonna chuck all our stuff in a van and meet us once in Bruges then get a decent airbnb for a weekend of partying. We'll probably sort our plan out when we get together over Christmas, so I will keep on eye on this thread to see if we can tie some of it in.

Feel free to join us! Where are you based?

Theyre actually surprisingly outgoing towards a sweaty guy riding a bike. You'll be amazed.

You'd do it in a day if you set a good pace. Should be good. Keep us updated!

If you go from Poole to St Malo you can go via the Channel Islands? I'll give you a place to stay.
