I ran an 11-32 cassette on my touring bike in Africa with a medium cage 105. However, I try to change the front chainrings before I change my cassette. A wider range cassette will give you more range but lose the gears in between.

Ta, had it for mths but somehow not got round to riding it, spokes, brake adapters, heli tape, etc getting in the way. Felt guilty riding it in the shit anyway, probably get out on it next week all being well.
