Just finished my winter bike for work, am London bicycle courier still. Pure dopium:

Bought second hand as a complete for 160 quid but all that remains from that is the frame, forks, front wheel, clamp and seat. Good deal!

Frame: Dolan 54 inch precursor with 1 inch headtube (super old)
Forks: Dunno, mostly carbon and one inch

Bars: Brick Lane Bikes Eastwood
Stem: Brick lane bikes 60mm reach
Headset: Chris King one inch
Bar tape: Brooks microfibre, Brooks bar ends

Lever: Gold finger
Cable: generic
Caliper: Shimano Sora
Shoes: Evans
Pads: Swiss stop blues

Cranks: Omniums, 165mm 48t
BB: Ominum
Pedals: Oddy Grandstands (have these on all three of my bikes so I suppose that makes them my favourite bike part)
Straps: Homemade by someone else out of car seat belts
Chain: Izumi track

Front wheel: Specialised Sirrius (actually very good), halo skewer alllen key
Rear wheel: Halo, 17t Condor sprocket
Tyres: Schwalbe Durano Plus, 25's

Seat: cheap Bontrager which is fine but will probs get changed to a Prologo, but no rush
Post: unbranded Kappa ally single bolt, probs getting changed to a thomson if one comes up cheap
Clamp: dunno
Bottle opener: Brixton Cycles (they had a AC/DC rebranding, you know, for those about to ride...)

Top tube cover: YNOT
Drop out inserts: Dolan, cost me thirty quid as the bike came without

Got a mate to respray it, another for the stickers.

I love it. Went a bit over budget but fuck it.

Long time no post....
So I binned the Trek off as it just felt so loose, replaced it with a Saracen Myst, which feels incredible.

I have also just finished building a hardcore hardtail - on one 45650b.

Salsa Chili Con Crosso - my first geared road (ish) bike. I've put in a lot of miles on this, the brooks bag helps.

I am looking into doing some touring. Has anyone had any experience with the Salsa Vaya? I'm considering selling all of my bikes (mtb, cross and commuter) and setting up a Vaya to do everything.

I've read good reviews on the Vaya. There are good amount of options out there right now, considering you're also selling your MTB you may consider something that can fit 29er tires if you decide to do more MTBing/your trails warrant the larger tire size.

Switched this from fixed to single-speed. Looking into some smaller 29er tires.

of the past few years, I owned an On-One Pomino (SS only), Pake C'mute, Salsa Vaya, and a Soma Double Cross Disc. I finally sold the Soma CX bike and put the money into my Soma Juice. the Juice is an extremely versatile bike. I have fat knobbies, a 120mm fork, 32t ring, and a wide bar/short stem setup for trails, and some lighter tires, alternate cockpit, 38t chainring, and a rigid Salsa fork for gravel/urban adventures.

The Pompino was gear-limted but a good bike for messing about around town. the C'mute was a comfy bike but I got the disc brake bug. The Vaya was awesome but much heavier and slower than what I wanted out of a gravel/commute/road bike. the DCD checked all the boxes except for toe clearance when riding anything remotely technical, maybe because I got it a size too small. I wrote about it in a bit more detail here: http://sidewallthorn.blogspot.com/

on that note, here's the Juice in gravel mode. I can ride this in a lot of the places I would normally ride trails, but if I stick to gravel paths and non-technical trails, I can move pretty darn fast on this. I plan on riding the Texas  Chainring Massacre 100K and Castell Grind on this next year. Salsa rigid fork, Ergon bar ends, 38/18 gearing, brand new 20x2.1 Schwalbe Thunder Burt tubeless tires.

Been awhile, Bikeguide.

Here's my main three right now:

Work bike. Also have a backup geared/cargo-racked work bike for the winter that's just waiting on a new crankset.

Fast bike.

Fun bike.  Speaking of the L.D. stem, it needs one.

Probably the wrong place to ask but whatever. Sold a bike on eBay. Buyer hasn't paid nor responded to my messages for over 48 hours. He has 2 feedback from months and months ago. He's not buying it is he? Where do I stand with cancelling the order?

send him an ultimatum? I sold a bike last week and his communication was bad, then the buyer had an attitude as if I was selling him dodgy goods. Took a photo of me and everything. I would have preferred the 2nd bidder had won, he was much more polite.

Decided to go for a Brother Kepler in the end. I'm going to finish the build next time I get paid.

Looking forward to touring in France on this in the summer.

Nice, wouldn't mind doing a bit of touring this summer myself.
