Have you guys had luck with those narrow wide chainrings sans chain keeper and a non clutch rear derailleur?

Mine has never come off with the new XT stuff on a hardtail.

What's a good helmet for road/single speed riding?

I have a few Giro helmets. They're good. Worth trying a few on though.

Thanks guys, I'll stop by the shop and check em out.

Going to pick up a cannondale capo this evening. I've been losing weight, eating better, and doing lots of core exercises to get back in shape after I was in an accident this spring. Fuck running, I'd rather do sprints on the bike trail to lose the rest of this weight.

I've been sitting on wheel parts since June whilst waiting for a rear hub to arrive. It finally came in so I built up my new wheels and fitted new tyres...just as summer ends!

I've gone for American Classic Micro 58 and RD225 hubs laced to H Plus Son Archetypes with DT Swiss Revolution spokes. Knocked about 410g off the weight of my bike which I'm pretty happy with, and should get my first ride in on them over the weekend. Only thing left to change is the groupset now.

Looks spot on man, obvs keep the chainset. New Dura Ace looks pretty tidy... Etap is pretty cool too.

Cheers man! They are the only two on my radar but I'm undecided.. SRAM don't do matching black brake calipers at the moment which really annoys me. Got chance to see it properly later on today so will see!

We had a prototype Dura Ace 'press' kit in work recently and it's fucking cool but just so expensive. I could sell the chainset on and chuck an Ultegra cassette on too but it's still a lot more than etap!

Both of those are absolute class. The only thing I'm not sure about is the stem on the Velo Orange(?).

Thanks Man.

The orange bike is a 2016 Masi Randonneur w/ a custom fork. The stem is absolutely ridiculous looking, but believe me, it fucking rules! Riding in the drops 99% of the time and its comfortable as shit! Not to mention handles amazingly well. Its honestly one of my favorite bikes despite looking horrible.

Fair enough. The frame looks like a VO Pass Hunter. Sweet bike nonetheless.

Anybody on here work for a Santa Cruz dealer?  Met up with the factory demo yesterday and fell in love with the 27.5 Hightower.

It would have been great to have parents, but it made BMX so much more hardcore and real not being able to buy anything new, ever.

Orange bike is rad! Nice classic build as well. Positive review on the LD stem, any negative remarks - aside from looks?

Zero negative remarks on LD stem, it rules, straight up! And honestly the looks don't bother me, but a lot of ppl who are not familiar with it are like "WTF is that"?!
