I just completed on my first house 3 weeks ago, feels good. But was definitely a lot of hassle - took 3 months from offer to completion, and we had to chase the solicitors and bank quite a bit. BUt its definitely worth it

Fuck, I'll make less than $15k this year including my school grants. Working a 3/4 time job to pay the bills and make it through school. My parents could have bought a house doing the same thing in their day. If you are bitching about making more than 40k a year and life being a struggle you can go fuck yourself.

That's a pretty broad brush. I mean, Southern California is a nightmare. I could be living in a house by myself somewhere in the next state or two over for what I pay for a room to rent in my place.
