storytime
« on: March 28, 2015, 07:10:29 AM »
so my buddy tells me there is going to be a bmx jam at a skatepark around here
at this park there is this one hip ramp that flows with the park, but if you wanted to, you could haul ass across the park and jump out of it catching an ungodly amount of air... but end up going no where.
so i told them i was going to build a giant landing ramp we could set up at the jam and hual it in.
****, thats a lot of lumber i commited myself to aquiring/buying
im lazy/cheap, im not going to do this, w.e
..well maybe ill keep my eye out for a couple 6x8 pallets and see if i can come up with anything
well two nights before the jam i stroll through my nieghborhood industrial area to grab a lil bit of firewood to burn at the beach...
and where i spot my burn wood i also spot, this gimoungous pallet, what the hell kind of truck did this fit on??

ahhhhhhh i should grab this, i really should...."im late for a date, ill get it in the morning"
that night i went to sleep thinking about that pallet...
"darn it, now I HAVE TO spend $50 on plywood alone to cover this thing"
didnt get back in my truck till late the next day and first thing i do is rush the half mile down to the pallet when i spot this 1/4mi from my house

oh! ive been blessed!
I cant wait to see how i load this all in my truck!
I rush a minute over to the pallet spot and its being sawed to pieces...
i guess i know where my firewood came from.
tbh, it was a great fire

ill build that landing one day.

So I just found two 4x8 pallets and a bunch of 3x5 suuuiper shitty pieces of plywood buuuut  there is like 20of them so it should compile into something strong enough. Upright supports will be made from scrap 6ft 2x4's

I want a 12ft wide landing tho

Years ago we scored a free small trampoline from spring clean up. One of those exercise ones, you know.

We set up our plastic kicker ramp and landed on top of the trampoline and it kicked us off onto the pile of dirt we made for a landing perfectly. It was like a moto step-on/step-off. So cool. Then I bounced too far off of it once and crashed into our basketball hoop and got a concussion.

Good times.
