Simple session 2015 - post show discussion
« on: April 20, 2015, 05:47:31 AM »
There is usually a SS thread during the actual contest, but this year the board has been silent.

Anyway; Who watched it and what do you think?
I streamed the final on the train and saw some of the qualification in afterhand.
Im surprised Kris Kyle made it to finals, didnt think he did well at all during qualification.

The tailwhip barspin to barspin was the thing that stood out for me. I didnt know people actually did them over boxes, let alone link it to another barspin mid-air!

just google simple session 2015 final, you'll end up at a redbull hosted page where you can watch the entire final, or select highlights, or even individual riders' runs.

i know it sounds old and cliche, but Gary Young still wins. i didn't even look up the roster who's in competition and just let it play once i downloaded the whole 2hours of finals. everyone's ripping tricks like mad gods but nobody stood out as much as gary did for me. the way he rode the course just makes it so different from anyone else, and in both runs when he did the hop-nose manual-hop on the grind boxes i held my breath and clinched my anus.

Fucking hell, watching those highlights on Dig, about 90% of those riders have absolutely no style to their riding at all. Fuck your silly little tricks.

Tom Justice is pretty good, maybe he's inherited Joe Rich's magic dreadlocks.

Thought the lineup was a bit boring this year so didn't watch, not many style cats.

I'm pretty sure Bas was commentating.
I was excited to see Kriss Kyle ride after watching some of his edits, but his runs were pretty disappointing outside of his incredible wallrides.

First time in the history of simple session I couldn't go and watch it in person. Watched it online. I personally feel like the judging was off. Devon smillie should have been ranked higher. Also drew bezanson didnt have a clean run and clipped the back wheel off of that huge wallride.peraza did a great run and as a last trick pulled a perfect huge 900 barspin. I think this time he shouldve taken the win.
