I am building up a 22", and it looks like I want to go with a 23-9, but I cannot find a 23t sprocket anywhere.
I used to remind people about 55-ish gear inches being the classic gear ratio for bmx.
44 / 16 X 20 = 55
25 / 9 X 20 = 55.5
But, it really seems like everyone who switches to slightly stouter gearing has no interest in going back.
So, for 22"s, I'd really suggest you just go with 25/9 X 22". It's slightly less than 28 / 9 X 20".
28 / 9 X 20 = 62.2
25 / 9 X 22 = 61.1 gear inches
