Advice needed
« on: February 17, 2016, 08:53:42 AM »
Am hoping someone has an answer for me? I am currently running a bsd raider v1 frame with the back wheel slammed. I have a 2.25 tire fitted now, but am wanting to run white tyres and am hoping to get 2.35. Does anyone know if this will fit the frame? Any advice is much appreciated  ;)

You have the frame so just look. If you look to have substantially more than .05" (1.3mm) of clearance all round now then you might get away with it (though the tyres may well come in oversize, or your current ones could be oversize or undersize).

Hope this helps.

That frame can only fit up to 1.85" tires. I have no idea how you even fit 2.25" in there.

come on guys, this is the first time in like a year theres been a legitimate bike shop query.

depends on the brand of the tyre as well OP, theres a lot of variation for the measurements when it comes to bmx tyres. there was an interesting article on bmxunion about it (which i cba to find the link to).

maybe post a pic of the clearance on your current tyre, and we may be able to give you a yeh or a nah based on our collective professional opinions here at BG corp.
other option is that you could maybe add a half link to your chain and run your back wheel a bit further back, depends how tight the tyre is side to side and the shape of the seat and chainstays
this year i am going to have sex and it will be awesome

Dude has a point.
I'm currently riding a BSD Beverage, V1. I had the 2.4 Donnasqueaks on it for a while, and though they didn't rub, they didn't have much wiggle room either. If the back wheel took a knock, they rubbed almost immediately. I'm running 2.3 Ross V2 tires now and have a comfortable amount of room to work with and the tire is still pretty big. Granted (hur hur), it's a different frame, but same time period from the same company--it's safe to guess the backends are similar.

IMO, white tires, without exception, are gross.
