Tires...?

Have a super old set of Rubens on my bike right now and running them as long as I possibly can. Rear is nearly bald down the center from skids but overall great tires. Ordered a set of V2 Ross tires recently but haven't arrived yet. Seem to be one of the better looking simple, all black tires out right now.

Recently moved up to a 2.35 Ruben and the new 2.20 Animal t1 tire. Seems like a good combo so far, the animal tire even stuck well in the trails.

street: summer cruising - Demolition Momentum 2.35 in graywall weights under 500g. It needs to be replaced when used, becomes thin and easy to cut by broken glassPlus custom 305g super stiff rims made or real good material (better than most 450-500g  rims). I finally have a superlight set or wheels. No matter I use frecoaster and 300g front hub.

I would definitly agree the slightly fatter tires in the back seem exponentially more sluggish

One thing BMXers don't seem to understand about tires is that the whole point of larger volume tires is to be able run lower pressure. If you switch to bigger tires but keep running the same psi all you're doing is basically adding some weight.

Well you also have larger area which can be in contact with the surface you are riding on. Helps when carving or riding rails I guess.

I'd bet dropping a few psi would give you more of an increase in contact area than increasing tire diameter.
