Well, I suppose we may as well start with a clean slate here. Just remember to keep it clean guys, I don't wanna be seeing pictures of Sasper's sister's snatch in this thread.
/sarcasm
Just put my summer wheels on and I'm stoked with how they turned out, although there's a touch too much poke in the front for my personal liking. May have to look into getting the Ing's +1 fenders.

Rad. Wider front fenders on that would look so dope.
-
I keep thinking about it, Alex. But the price on them is ridiculous for what they are. Between 2k-4k (thanks for taking a shit, canadian dollar). Realistically, it may make the most sense to go Rocket Bunny in the front to even out with the rear, however I'm not really too keen on cutting into the fender and wheel well on a brand new car.
What's going on in your garage at the moment? Done anything new with the Rabbit?
Edit: For those interested, wheel specs are 16x8 +25 and tires are 225/50/16
-
You should look into getting the existing fenders pulled, that'd probably be a lot cheaper, although not as easy to reverse it back to stock as different fenders. Knowledgable people can get you wider without even needing new paint.
I was just thinking today I should go put my summer wheels on the GTI now that the snow is all gone but I feel as soon as I do that, we'll get another blizzard! Always seems to happen towards the end of March. Not having a heated garage really kills motivation to work on things so I haven't done anything to my cars since last fall. About that time for spring cleaning, though. Clay bar, polish and wax as well as detail the interior again.
Also since I quit my job last summer, the fun money has been limited so I haven't done a whole lot although I think I'm going to pick up a roof rack and bike mount for the GTI rather than dirtying up the interior of the car all the time.
-
Didn't even think of pulling the fenders. Duh. The most obvious choice... I'm not all too concerned about the ability to go back to stock, I can always find someone to trade fenders with me if the time comes to sell. Just don't want to cut them up because I don't trust the body shop to get a good seal again to stop rust from the inside.
I wanted to wait on the wheels, but we've had pretty consistent above 5*C days here, so I think it's safe to say there won't be another blizzard. Luckily, I'm starting up the surveying season again in a few weeks so I should have a work truck by next week and if it gets really shitty out, I'll just use the truck.
Speaking of school, I just got accepted to university for electrical engineering, but I think I'll be putting that off for a year to pay the car off in full, as well as owe my company less money for the apprenticeship courses I've been put on in the past few weeks. Real life is a bummer when it comes to hobbies... Unless you're Sokolaka, then you have all the money in the world for toys.

Let's get some old bg salt back before this place shuts down. My weekend mobile.

Just bought a CPO 2013 Tiguan. Black on black 4motion 2.0t. Love it.

Definitely pull those fenders! Nice choice on the wheels and tires too, it should drive awesome.
I will quickly chime in for Sokolaka too... That dude works his ass off. Lol

sweet!

How much is a nice car in the US? It seems like it is so much easier to buy good stuff over there, any decent car here is a fucked up amount of cash.

I guess it all depends on your definition of "nice"...
There is a sweet age spot here where cars get dirt cheap though. At 20ish years old they aren't new enough for most, but aren't old enough to be classics. So they are cheap.
But the huge downside is that we get shit selection compared to the rest of the world.
-
^That.
Although im told you can get titles somehow here in AZ but i have to read up ans confirm that info. Otherwise i would love a jzx100 mark II or chaser.
-
Got a heck of a deal on an OEM roof rack today! They're $375 new + shipping, I picked one up from a dude who never even mounted anything to it so it's like new for $175 shipped. Stoked on that.
Now to find a good deal in a bike attachment.
-
Just returned my Nissan Leaf that I got a loan of for the week. Never thought I'd say this but I freaking loved it. So quiet and relaxing.

We traded in the wife's Mk5 Rabbit for this CPO Tiguan. The 2.0 tsi and AWD are a nice combination.
(Ignore the random mcmansion, we were parked there for a birthday party)

Hey atleast its not a Renault Twizy.
I had always hated the idea of an electric car but its grown on me. I'd love one for driving around the city and commuting then have a gas guzzler like a 440 Charger as a weekend car.
-
Tiguan is next on my list with the baby en route. Just need a pay bump, hopefully due for one in June.
-
Looks nice master!
Just installed a roof spoiler today. Very pleased with how it turned out. Too lazy to upload a picture, though. Up on IG for any of those who follow me.

Decided I'm finally gonna buy some alloys for my Golf this week, what do you guys think of these MSW 22s I terribly photoshopped onto my car?
-
Are you getting 14" wheels like you photoshopped? :D
-
16", should be big enough. I don't want anything too massive since I drive loads and have got used to the comfort of big tyres now ha
-
Jealous of how clean your bumpers get to be, without the side markers and all. Personally, I'd go with a bigger wheel and smaller tire if I was dumping the money into new stuff but that's just like my opinion, man.
Praying we don't get anymore snow; I already put my summer wheels/tires on!
First time with the tinted windows and wheels on at the same time so I'm really enjoying the look. Really need to notch the frame soon, though. Tired of banging the axle and now that I'm tucking the rears, I really need to bring the front end down to match.
-
Holy hell Alex, that looks amazing
-
After ringing my insurers and being told it'll cost me another £200 a year if I declare alloys, I think I'll just stick with shitty looking wheel trims after all haha.
-
Wow, UK insurance is strange.
-
Shit as far as my insurance knows, i drive a stock truck.
-
Dunno what it's like over there but over here insurance companies are cunts and will do anything to avoid paying out.
-
Aye, pretty sure all insurance companies operate like that. Take a look at the US health insurance system.
-
When ever health insurance is brought up it feels like I'm listening to anime without subtitles. As far as auto insurance goes i didnt have it for a few months because it was too high when i moved. I paid $94 full coverage in ohio and the lowest i was quoted for my lexus was $96 with basic and its a 95. This other place said they can get me insurance between $40-60 for whatever basic shit i need in AZ. I need my oil pan gaskets and some seals replaced first though.
-
Are those prices per month or per year?
-
Month.
-
Insurance here varies by zip code, driving history, car choice, credit score, background check, insurance history, bundle discounts, and more. No two people will have the same situation so comparing rates is nigh impossible.
-
I have had a couple sets of these: http://www.sears.com/dunlop-dun-direzza-dz101-tire-215-45r17-87w-sl/p-09558392000P on my is300. The inside wear sucks, not sure if its them specifically. Though, I am fairly certain because I had a couple sets on my jetta too with similar results. I have got around this and had, maybe, a set back to front and flipped the fronts (inside edge to outside edge), maybe 2 years ~30k?
Do you guys have any other suggestion on tires? I'm not dissatisfied, but might be stoked on something better.
-
Prodigal, apparently the Michelin pilot sport 3 a/s are really good. I'm about to switch the Bridgestone Potenza re11's for them. Mostly because he Michelins have a 70000km warranty while the bridge stones have nothing because they're classified as an auto cross tire.
-
Those were actually my other choice. ~$20 more/tire isn't a big deal.
-
Its always nice to fund a shop thats pretty welcoming. Im usually a little weirded out by approaching performance/specialty shops due to bad experiences with reputable shops. But this place was cool. Shop is busy but still was able to answer questions and wants to get the car on the lift thursday to see what needs to be done and see if what may need to be done can get.done differnetly to save me.money. but at this point i rrally wouldnt be mad if i had to drop $1400 on repairs.

lolz wut?
Opinions on most dependable/safe/easy to maintain car or wagon (also open to suggestions) under say $9,000? Would like it to be sort of roomy so would like to stay away from sub compact stuff. She has a 2002 honda accord coupe that's dookie right now and hates it.
Going to get my soon to be bride into something and we have the opportunity to buy outright because of some student loan fiasco with her culinary school. ~6k would be our own money.
-
Get a tdi golf.

pops bought a polaris slingshot last week, midlife crisis. they're stupid fun to drive, sits really low, pretty quick, sounds cool. i didn't get to drive it much but he's enamored by it.

the day after that i moved a couch from my neighborhood to 30mi away, then rode the parks out there the rest of the day. $85
the next day i moved a couch didnt make much at $60, 2hr, 60mi job but it was setup by a buisness partner so idont mind
the next day i took my upledge to the skatepark and was gonna do a pallet run on the way home but was already too close to commuter-hour-traffic so i said fuck it and just drove home. those pallets will still be there.
today i reparked my truck across the street and cleaned out my spare iac sensor, ill put the new (old) one later /lazy

only problem is it wont stay in place without the high sides, need to figure thazt one out :/
also want to chop the top 6 inches off then dot weld it back onto a flat bar of 1/4in steel to lower wind resistance. get it under the cab light.
high sides are lighter than any cage ive ever seen on anyones truck AND can be removed in seconds, holllla
window guard is fucking heavy, like 50lbs heavy, lame.

New exhaust. Tomei Expreme 60R, full titanium pipes, weighs less than 11 pounds and sounds heavenly when bringing it up to redline, then snap, crackle and pops it's way back down to idle.

Well I managed to get a decent price sorted with insurance so I picked up these refurbished VW wheels for cheap the other day. Just need two new tyres and I'll be good to go. Pretty standard really but they look much better than wheel trims

I'm out the car scene now and just drive a standard Audi A4 Avant. My mates are all pretty involved with it though, here's a couple of theirs:

Yeah Tom, those will look a lot better than the steelies and I think even better than the other ones you posted earlier.
I got my roof rack installed today. So much nicer than stuffing the bike in the rear of the car. Rack goes on/off in 5 minutes so that's cool too.

Those look baller TC.
Any of you guys have experience with Federal tires? Found a set of four Federal 595's in 225/45/17 for less than 200 brand new, and that is certainly a little bit less than the other tires I've been looking at for around 600 a set. I've read mostly good stuff about them, with a few negative reviews that have me a little bit worried. For the most part, just looking for a decent set of tires for dailying on, and I'll still have the RE11's for track and autox use.
I shouldn't have bought new wheels, haha
-
No personal experience but I've read good things about them. Only downfall is that they don't come with a warranty but it sounds like you found a set from a private seller anyway?
-
I know Federal mud tires (some of the cheapest you could buy) had some issues with their sidewall until they released an updated version. That's all i got. Car tires are probably fine.
-
Alex, Billy, cheers boys. Ended up finding a set of Hankook Ventus V2 concept2's for a fair price. Plus the 5 year warranty and 70000km warranty is a good deal.
From what I've read they seem like a perfect match for the FRS, mid performance tire for entry level sports cars, etc, etc. The RE11's got REALLY boring on my car, way too sticky and it took away from what the car is all about. I'm kicking myself for selling the OEM tires now though, I could have saved a ton of money if I held onto them.
-
I ended up getting these today. http://www.michelinman.com/tire-selector/category/ultra-high-performance-sport/pilot-super-sport/tire-details
Great choice. A lot of the FRS/BRZ guys run them for more spirited and HPDE stuff. The only complaint I've heard, and mostly from Canadians, is that they're a bit cost prohibitive, but it seems like you 'Mericans get a far better deal than we do on tires.
-
Federal 595s are nice I ran them on my miata on my last set of wheels. You have to be careful with them tho as the sizes are kinda weird they are wider than the size they are suppose to be.
-
Just finished parting this thing out, shes back to stock now, debating on getting rid of it and picking up an R32 Skyline GTS-T or GT-R

My new wheels finally came in. Kicking myself for not going 18x9.75 now, but whatever. Maybe next summer I'll go for a super aggressive set-up.
wheels are 17x8.25 +25 and tires are 205/40/17. Need to tweak the camber in the front, since my overall wheel size is a bit smaller than my previous one, and the slightly stretched tires, I won't need to run a stupid amount of camber up front. Also probably going to raise the front up a bit, hate listening to the scrape every time I go out of my driveway.

Did you grow a mullet yet?

Almost!
Just cleaning it up and selling it.
-
What size engine does it have?
-
305. Automatic though.

My dad just gave his away a month ago. He had a maroon one. I just got some parts at the pick and pull for the GS. But i have a wiring issue i have to figure out since only the drivers side window works but my regulators work. So thats that, i need to go back and pull the drivers seat out of one and spend hours getting the interior harness out.

Dropping my car off for a vinyl wrap this weekend, pretty excited to see it finished.

Is it ever worth it converting a truck to 4x4 vs just getting a different vehicle? I got an '02 Xterra RWD, moving to Denver and need/want 4x4. I've got only 9l on it and just did the timing belt/water pump/all other belts. I love the truck so is it worthwhile?
-
Only sometimes. For your situation probably not. Unless you want to somehow throw a divorced t-case and a small solid axle up front then it would be kind of cool. Or try to go about converting it using stock parts which would most likely cost you more than if you sold the rwd and got into a 4x4..

Girlfriend curbed my wheel this morning... Not too pleased.
Not sure if I should even bother looking into getting the damage repaired or just go out and buy a replacement wheel since they're less than 190 a piece...
Also have paint cracking on my front fender from rubbing on my old set up. Don't care. The more I think about that, and the curb rash, the less I care. Battle scars and all that.

Usually, no. Unless you have access to dirt cheap parts, lots of skilled labor, time, and a good space to do the work.

A ghetto solid axle swap is pretty much the worst way to go about it though.
The only worthwhile way on an Xterra would be to find a donor 4x4 rig that's a similar year and swap everything over.

Picked up new suspension and some Volks. Ill start to linger around here more often.
-
Decided im going to try and flip this when im done with it. I still need a cleaner bottom portion of the back seat, a drivers seat, and sort out the wiring due to cut wires in the harness. Last thing will be paint. I want to get air suspension for my ls400 after it gets fixed. So this will fund that, or i will just sell it and buy a Q45, who knows.

Yeah, after talking to a couple shops, the only reasonable way would be finding a donor and 4x4 xterrras aren't very common here. Taking an 06 4Runner to my mechanic tomorrow for an inspection. If it checks out I'm getting it.
-
Hank, if that 4Runner checks out clean, you won't be disappointed. A friend of mine bought one as a winter beater, and ended up liking it so much he dumped some money into it to get it into tip top shape and now daily drives it
-
Should be finished and driving it sometime in May.

I wanted one when I bought the Xterra 4 years ago but I got it for such a good price with only 58k on the odo, I couldn't pass it up. I do think I'm going to test drive an FJ just to see if I like it significantly more. I don't think I'll be doing that much off-roading but they have the rear diff lock and the 4runner doesn't.

If you do this i recommend a 205 transfer case. Also build it so that the front and rear shafts are the same length. If you break the rear shaft you can always use the front to get you home

Whatever happened to Bitzer and his flame spitting lesbarus?

I'm fairly certain Bitzer has an S4 now.
I'm thinking about selling my GTI sometime soon. Tired of paying for it.
I might try and get a shitty e30.

I think the Rabbit blew up today.
what happened?
New one or old one? Are the new ones still called Rabbits over there or Golfs?
-
Old one.
The low oil pressure light came on the other day and then started puffing blue smoke out the exhaust and now it doesn't want to start. Think the rings or valves are shit. Fuck, maybe even the head gasket. Gunna have to run a compression test. Kinda knew it would happen sooner or later, 180,000 miles on it with a big cam and intake, was just hoping it'd be later than sooner.
16V swap here we come.
-
Darn, 16v is well worth the time.

Bought my wife this 05 z71 4x4 Tahoe yesterday. Was a 1 owner babied by an old man, he kept all of the maintenance records since day 1. Plans are to 3/5 drop on 24" dub cheddas. This thing is so fucking clean it's stupid. (http://i641.photobucket.com/albums/uu132/bmxican95/20150430_194023_zpswlamyrjq.jpg)

Me and my girlfriend bought a new car today. 2005 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro. 240 000 kms on it. We got a good deal at only $3100. (Canadian dollars) Only one owner services records from day 1 with the timing belt already replaced. Will get pictures up tomorrow hopefully its super clean.

Nice. I got a 1.8 A4 Avant for my first car, 298000km, still running good!

Is that because of the guy? If you could have the things pissing you off fixed or done right the first time would you do it again?

Dick, not sure if you're replying to me or not, but I did ask about your car on Insta, so cheers even if you're not! It's a sweet colour for sure, and is not helping me with my flip-flopping on wrapping my car or not.
Recently I've ordered a new shift knob and shift knob extender (http://store.wearelikewise.com/product/the-finger-banger and http://store.wearelikewise.com/product/the-rod-stewart) plastidipped my wheels due to curb rash and wanting a change from the bright green. I didn't do a perfect job, but they're going to be winter wheels once I get my new set-up.

I might buy a 1.4 VTS model ( I think it's called the Westcoast in the UK?). Cheaper on gas then the 1.6 but still has the fun suspension parts of the 1.6.

Cant go wrong with either of them. Although, I cant speak from experience, I have tons of 240 friends who run both companies with no complaints. PBM stuff is usually quite pricey though, for something like LCA's, i'd buyt he cheaper of the 2.

I finally got round to getting new tyres and putting those VW alloys on my car. Looks so much better. Probably could've done with them being an inch or two bigger but that's what she said

Naw, don't have the time to get out to the track really. Seems like every time I'm home, there aren't any track days going on. Usually miss them by a week. Also seems like I'm doing more wrenching than driving.
Went to get an alignment on Saturday, and the fucking mechanics told me that they couldn't fix my camber, because my LCAs wouldn't adjust enough (Right rear is at -4.6* and left rear is at -2.7*, I wanted -2*). I laughed at them and said that I wouldn't be paying the full amount then since they didn't do a full alignment. They then proceeded to tell me that I wouldn't get my keys back if I didn't. Oh well, at least my rear toe is fixed up. Eyeballing it, it looked to be around 2* toe in, super squirrelly driving it around. Looks like I'm going to have to go to a legit performance shop to get my camber dealt with.
-
I recently graduated and start my new job within a few weeks. Still living at home with my parents and no bills so I've been looking at cars again recently. Anyone have any experience with s2000's? I drove a friend of mine's a few years ago briefly and sort of fell in love with it but never had the income to afford one. I've obviously been researching the different model years on forums and whatnot but just curious if anyone here has any seat time in one?
-
If torque is something you crave not the best choice, but i found them to be quite fun. Quick enough, "v-tec kicks in" feeling. Its nice car to drive around town in. I wish o didnt test drive one with 19" wheels but still a good feeling car.
-
Almost back on the road. Real life hardships are making the process slow but i should have it on the road in july thanks to facebook groups. The clips broke on my grill as well so i need another one unless someone has any ghetto ideas to fix the broken grill. The tabs on the outsides snapped off and only the center was still on.(http://p.vitalbmx.com/photos/forums/2015/06/23/42222/s1200_IMG_20150623_183722.jpg)

Get a cheap badge less ebay one?

That was a thought, but the 98-2000 models have more badge less options.

S2000 would be really cool for a track car.

So I bought a 3 owner 2004 R32 last night with 80k miles for $13k. Pretty pumpt on it, turning into a track toy.

That's pretty sweet BE, I think I'm trading my FR-S for an Ecoboost Mustang, gonna see what I'll get in trade value for it next weekend.
-
I really want to see a turbo kit on a Ecoboost Mustang.
-
I did a bit of research today at work, doing some price comparisons and such. The difference in price between the Ecoboost and the GT is about 7k. With a simple OTS tune, done by Cobb for $500 bucks, you're making 277hp and 371tq. With some additional tweaks to actually customize the tune to your car, it only goes up. Plus, a company called MAP performance (or MAP motorsports, can't remember) makes a turbo kit for under 4k that includes everything you need to do a full upgrade of the entire turbo system, you're going to be eating GT's for breakfast. The amount of aftermarket support out there for the Ecoboost already is making it hard for me, and probably a lot of other people out there to pony up (lol) the extra cash for the GT
-
Yeah but the new 5 liter in the gt is rather stout. Cams intake mani exhaust puts you over 500whp.
Plasti dipped my skirts and valances yesterday. I guess i'll do the hood next

.....and then bought a TL SH-AWD Advance in this funky brown color. We'll see if it fairs better this winter than the track prepped S2000 with winter tires lol.

always wanted a bronco... got this one for a cheap shotgun and $187. only needs everything
(http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x153/low225/20150828_164328_zps8hda6xxp.jpg)

Hell yeah beat the crap outta that thing. Hopefully you have a manual shift tcase. If you were keeping it i would do a shackle flip, have a bumper made, demud flap, cheap self done paint job .. 351 or 302? I had to replace the gaskets on the top end of mine and replace all of the brittle original vacuum hoses with new rubber lines.
-
its gonna get built for some mild dezert fun. so no shackle flip. its already super unstable and the sketchiest thing ive ever driven. The mud flaps were gone right after that pic. I also removed the rear blocks and im going to shitcan the body lift today or tomorrow. I scored a 92+ hood and glass fenders on craigslist for $50 so im converting it to the newer front end. I dont want it to have much more than a 4" lift so im going to get rid of the 6" lift thats on it and cut and turn the beams and widen them 2" extend the radius arms and run coil overs, cage etc. it has the 351 and the C6 trans. thinking of a 5 speed swap so i can get more than 5mpg. eventually id like to swat a 6.0 or 5.3 into it but thatll have to wait til i leave Kommiefornia.
-
Oh well yeah i wasn't going to suggest high dollar stuff since i didn't know if you were going to invest in something that cost you close to nothing. Threat motorsports makes some nice stuff. Lq9 swap would be tits.
If i were to build on a bronco again and keep the engine i would buy a 96 since it's obd2..
Most of the 6" lifts have holes to move the ttb up for 4" lift..
-
still going to do it "cheap" going to fab up and buy used as much as i can. i dont want the drop brackets at all. if i do the "cut and turn" i can run it lifted about 4 or 5" with the stock pivot points and have the correct camber. the vortex swap is way down the list probably just a dream but i figured spending a little money to build it capable wouldn't be so bad since i got into it cheap.
-
So I got rid of my lexus and I now have a 4dr r32 :)

I didn't see the latest rendition of the Lexus but i have to say the trade was well worth it. Can't wait to see you execute that the way you want it.
Also, how shitty are 2006 gli's? I'm getting my ls400 worked on this weekend and if its still giving me problems in going to sell it and get s dealer car and this gli seems like a good buy. They also have a 350z I would rather have but grown up me says its not a good idea.
-
4 door skylines are the coolest, but if I was to get one, the only way I'd do it is if we're a GTR. Way too much of a pain in the dick to get a RHD drive car insured in Ontario now for it to truly be worth it, and if I'm getting charged 10-15k per year on insurance, it better be awesome.

Upside. It could haul
Downside. It had no brakes

I've owned an sti for the past month. It's so annoying to drive around town.
-
Nick, I've heard the STi sucks for daily driving because boost doesn't come in until higher RPMs, whereas the WRX it comes on around 2000 RPM? I don't know for sure, just what I read in a comparison between a 2014 WRX (or whatever the first year with the FA20DIT was) and a 2015 STi
-
do you really need a boost in the city?
to get you to the redlight faster?
so you can fill in the gap in front of my truck during traffic, and then slam on the brakes 40 feet later
the gap i leave so i dont have to be on the brakes constantly
no brakes :x

Being static with a vw is difficult because they smash oil pans so easily. Motor mount spacers?

ive just picked up this 2004 Volvo XC90 D5
Immediate plans are pressed number plates & to sort the headlamps out. Future plans are to either refurbish the wheels anthracite or change them out for something bigger and different.

I sold my Dodge to a friend after picking up the "holy grail" of Toyota trucks.
1985 Toyota pickup single cab, long bed with the factory 2LT turbo diesel.
A buddy of mine has had it for years, and I had been trying to aquire it for the last 10 years. It finally became available for $2k and I swiped it up.
Brand new 35" KM2's, Yukon 4.88's, Aussie lockers front and rear, transfer case e-brake.
The truck was stolen twice so the interior was stripped of everything stereo related, along with the Warn winch bumper and winch. It needed a bit of work. I installed new LED turn signals flush mounted to the grill, SR5 V6 4Runner big 4 pot calipers and rotors, SR5 1" mastercylinder, stainless lines, new slave cylinder, all new fluids, thermostat, cut and restructured the firewall to clear the tires.
Disc brakes and a proportioning valve out back are on the list of things to get done.
I have a VW TDI intercooler on the way, along with a new aluminum radiator and oil cooler to go on.
I'm going to build a low profile bumper this winter when my parents travel and I can snag their garage.
This summer I'll go crossover steering with a new pump and 2.5" crawler springs, air bumps, and bilsteins. I want to keep the truck as low as possible as it will be the new base for my snowboard/bike/kayak trips and only the occasional hardcore wheeling stuff.
Right now I'm getting 28mpg on 35's.
(https://scontent.fsnc1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xtp1/v/t1.0-9/11254337_10206361021122105_3806954994444140905_n.jpg?oh=db4ae8c56d810b93d26cd4b12e727d13&oe=56E928CC)
I still have my 04 4EAT WRX as well. Its in the shop right now getting Eibach springs, some Grimmspeed stuff, new Gates Racing timing belt/water pump/guides/accessory belts. When it comes home, I'm pulling the SRS downpipe and catback to take them in along with my UEL header/up-pipe to have them ceramic coated and heat wrapped.
I picked up some JDM big fog conversion pieces, a JDM carbon trim kit, and some SSR Type-C RS wheels which are currently waiting new paint/decals and some Cooper RS3-S's.
The company the repaired my car after I rear ended a lady put a bent up radiator and fans with epoxied wires instead of the quick connect factory clips back in the car so I'm working to try to get some help from insurance to cover a new cooling system as I've had to be towed home twice because of their work.
I'm undecided if I should paint match the Seibon hood/trunk or strip them back to a UV coated carbon.

Not sure if I ever posted this, but after selling my WRX i bought an XJ and put a small lift with 31's on it.
That's a good looking rig! Ive been an XJ guy for a long time. I've had 4 XJ's and 1 ZJ.
I'm keeping my eye out for a Forest Service XJ at auction to pick up cheap.
My dad worked for the Forest Service and got new rigs every 3 years. They got a ton of miles but the maintenance schedule on their rigs is really good and done locally.
My WRX is nearly paid off and will probably remain a weekend car. I need a DD while the truck is going through it's "restore".
-
still unfucking the bronco shit canned the body lift, lift blocks, yellow coil springs, steering stabilizers (6), Ranchco shocks (6) or side steps. I built a new rear bumper and converted the front bodywork to the 95 style. now im working on the front suspension i built some extended radius arms and im shopping for coil overs.

I'd start making exhausts for the FRS/BRZ and charge fuck all (comparatively to what else is on the market) for them and become a billionaire. The average cat back for them is somewhere in the avenue of 1100 USD, and nowhere near that amount of money is spent on parts. It's all a mark-up for the name on the muffler.

The wife had the Tiguan baby hauler out at the time, there is a Mk2 Gti in the carport, and my 4runner is peeking out from behind that.
The Mk3 will be leaving this week. Happy but a little sad about that.

Sold my tahoe an hour ago and now have 8600 to spend on a little econobox for my wife. Any suggestions? She's looking at honda fits.

My wife got an 08 civic sedan almost two years ago. Hers is 5 speed and pretty much loaded. I think she paid around that. She loves it and is constantly pulling around 40mpg from it.

Loved mine. I had the 2004 1.5 VTEC GD3. Used it for commuting and hauling shit in the back with the fold down seats. Was pretty good for camping too. I slept in the back for about a week when we went to the rally of the lakes. Comfy
Never had a problem with it bar the EGR valve went but I managed to salvage one from a crashed one in a scrapyard.
Get locking wheelnuts as the 4x100 alloy wheels tend to go missing as they fit on 80s and 90s Civics.
They are pretty slow though and the roof leaks sometimes in heavy rain.

I think we're buying a 2012 kia rio sx loaded for $6300. As long as she likes it and i don't have to fuck about with it, I'll be a happy man.

Besides the issue of mpg do you regret the rapid accumulation of mileage?

Got my new exhaust in today. Kakimoto Racing GT1.0Z. As far as I know, it is 1 of 2 on this side of the world, for the FRS/BRZ at least.

No, just putting miles on it in general.

Had a couple friends convince me to start doing auto cross next summer. Sold my coils, put down a deposit on 720Form GTF1 wheels in 17x8, they weigh 15.5 pounds per wheel!!! Going to be getting some springs tomorrow, because boxing week. Then I'll have to look into class specific rules. I think I'll end up being in STX competing against cars that are substantially quicker, but I'm not expecting to do well in my first year racing anyhow.
Should be very fun.

Spent my last good check of the year on this Volvo. Only major issue is the power steering rack but i can drive without that shit. 2 of the tires were bad and I replaced one today. I will do the other tomorrow but I'm pretty happy with this car. I'll see what else I can do maintenance wise after I pay rent.

Weren't you all about bags and stance and stuff recently? and now you regret not having a miata because of autox?
You should just track the FRS. Way cooler than autox and FRS will be pretty good for it.

Current project. I actually sort of hate it. Just because its been a pain in my ass. Replacing it with a 6mt ctsv next year.

I recently drove a bone stock FRS and that made me realize how shitty it is to drive a super low car that can offer so much fun. I wasn't ever able to drive it spiritedly cause I was always worried I was going to be scraping. It was fun for a summer, but I realized having a functional car that can go around cones is more rewarding than driving a low car that I need to lay boards down to get in and out of my garage. Then, some friends of mine convinced me to start doing autox. Not all that interested in tracking, because if I wreck on the track, insurance will tell me to get lost. I'll probably go out for a few open lapping days, and there's a ice/snow track day coming up in a couple weeks for FRS/BRZ's that is apparently a blast. Looking to go to that.
I ended up selling my coils, LCAs and some other random shit I had laying around and it got me enough to get a set of 720Form GTF1's, RE71R's, springs and some more track suited LCAs.

Cool. Looks pretty damn clean. Most of the ones up here of that vintage are already showing signs of wear, lots of rust. Just don't know why you'd get a dually if you won't be using it? Unless of course you got a smoking deal on it, and if that's the case, nevermind!

You been following the progress on IG? Should be getting my wheels in by the end of the month. They're from a Canadian company that only does small production runs at the beginning of every year, so I've had to do a bit more waiting than I'd like. Now I just need to decide whether I want Michelin Pilot Super Sports (50,000 km warranty, but 240ish per tire) or Bridgestone Potenza RE71R's (the new autox hotness with mega grip, but no warranty at 180ish per tire). Been really enjoying the car at about 1.4" lower than stock over about 3" lower than stock. I can go fast and not scrape, not get stuck coming out of my garage into my driveway. It's awesome. Now I just need to get an alignment, probably next week, and I should be set for the coming summer and trying my hand at auto x.

Noooooooo! I want to pick up an IS300 at some point. Extra points if it's a 5 speed sportcross.
-
theyre getting cheap even the manual ones a sportcross though is a reach hahaha. i thought about getting one, but az is notorious for high mileage expensive cars.
-
Honestly, I don't even know if they made manual sportcross'. I'd be content enough with a manual sedan, given the rarity of those.
Winter sucks
(https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1699/23883288784_54aaa470c9_b.jpg)
-
There was no manual is300sx in the US. I went on a search last night for a manual is250. That's a rarity too. Think I'm going to get a ct200 f sport.
-
Just had it declared a total loss. Shit man! Can't believe I fucking paid that shit off on Wednesday, would've had an additional 3240$ for whatever I get into next.
-
That's a bummer. What are you going to get now?
-
Ct200h f sport, an fr-s, scion iM, ?
-
I love my FRS, but I also have a truck in case I need something more practical. If the FRS is your only vehicle, you may regret it a bit. If you're only concerned about getting something fun, then you really only have 2 choices, the FRS or the Miata. Unless of course you buy used and find an S2k. There's a lot of bad stuff I could say about the FRS, but the positives more than make up for it. Yesterday, for example, I went on a 2 hour drive to get beer directly from the brewery, instead of the liquor store that's less than 5 minutes from my house, just because it's that enjoyable to drive. And, depending on if you want stick or auto, both transmissions are fabulous. I test drove the manual and it was amazing compared to my old Mazda 626. Ended up buying an auto because my ankle is pretty fucked up and on some days it's difficult to operate a clutch pedal and I don't find I'm missing anything. The only time I've even felt a little bit bummed about it is when I'm at a meet and someone decides to shit talk me about it. If you do decide to go with an FRS, wait until the 2017 is released (assuming you're not in a rush to buy), it's going to be the refresh year apparently. And it's a win-win if you wait, if you like the new body, buy it, if you don't, the old body will be heavily discounted I bet. Also, another important thing to keep in mind, is that the FRS is extremely barebones, unless you get a limited edition. I'd look to a BRZ if you care at all about things like dual climate control and heated seats.
Really digging the iM. Haven't driven one yet, but it's the Toyota Auris(?), basically just a 5 door Corolla. You'll get a billion miles out of it and they're specced pretty well.
Don't know much about the Ct200h, but I do like how they look.
Judging by those 3 you mentioned, you're looking for something a bit sportier? There's a bunch of oddball cars I'd like to get, but at this point, being real, I'd like to move on to a 2015+ WRX. Function, form, the whole package. When/if I move on from the FRS, I'll be looking into either a new Miata or a WRX. Maybe even an S2k if I can find one at a reasonable price.
-
The bummer about a ct200 or an iM is the reviews say they're "painfully slow". I don't see any decrease in functionality from my IS compared to an fr-s. A loss of cabin cargo space? The trunk in my car is small. I have to take off my stem and pull my forks out to stick a bike in the trunk. The seats didn't fold down either.
I'm mildly interested in seeing if I can buy my shit pile.
-
The FRS is also a bit underpowered, but it more than makes up for it in joy. The biggest shortfall is the torque dip between 2500ish and 4000 rpm. But, with 1000 bucks (header and tune) you can pretty much get rid of it and have a decent power band.
The trunk is small, and it has a small opening. Well, it's narrow all around, but with the rear seats down, you gain a lot of depth. I haven't had much trouble, but I've cut it close to having too much stuff in the car. I'm also not that tall (5'11") and with my seat in a comfortable position, I can't even fit my hand behind my seat. It's a 2+2, but the rear seats are pretty much unusable. It's a narrow cabin as well, but it's not a huge deal unless you're 300+ pounds.
-
You've done such a sweet job on that vette. That seal grey color is luxurious.
Thanks man. Bummer to see your ride banged up and written off! Any potential of buying it back from insurance and fixing it up on your own dime?
Finally getting into the meat on the F250 project. Test fit the glass fenders. Need to go pick up the step side bed I bought for it as well.
(http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d14/sokoloka/IMG_5530_zpscmgooera.jpg) (http://s32.photobucket.com/user/sokoloka/media/IMG_5530_zpscmgooera.jpg.html)
Can ever so slightly see the Raptor in the background. Ran past the warranty so cut the frame front and rear for new bumpers and dovetailed the bed. Need to get actual pics.
-
I want to try to buy it. I did some reading about it and insurance basically is sending it to a scrap yard. Besides the radiator support getting pushed back (the hood pulled it back still being latched) all the other shit is cosmetic. At least I can start a turboed track car.
-
Honestly, I don't even know if they made manual sportcross'. I'd be content enough with a manual sedan, given the rarity of those.
They never made a manual sportcross. The US got a manual sedan in 2002. You can use a supra gearbox and convert them easy enough though..
Funny you mention their rarity, in Ireland the IS300 and smaller sibling the IS200 have become the cheap RWD car of choice for a drift beater. You can go out with €2000 in your pocket, buy one, weld the diff and have some money left over for a few sets of tyres and a cuppa tea.
-
I've been looking them up for pricing there's an 01 w 409200 km for £3500. Hope I don't get insulted this week, otherwise I'm raising hell with the resale value on these with >150k miles.
-
Values are crazy for these cars around here. Wouldn't be buying one for a drift beater, it'd just be a fun project car to do things to it that I wouldn't do to the FRS. But, for over $3000 that has over 300k km, I just can't justify that price. There's one about 25 minutes way from me that has less than 149k on it, but dude wants $7000. To me, that's less than 100k and a manual money.
-
I was mistaken with my last post. Manual IS300s were never made but we did get a manual IS200 sportcross. That's with the 2.0 L 1G-FE I6. I don't think you guys ever got the IS200 though
-
No, we only got the 300. Manuals are few and far between.
-
Buying my IS back for $1100. Going to get a check for 7 and I found an 06 manual IS250 with 45k for $17000.
I think I can fix my 300 for less than 1000 minus a paint job. I think the bumble bee combo is going to happen. Just take the hood and bumper covers and get them black. Other than that I need to pop the upper radiator support and that's that. Still have my OE grill.
-
Not a bad deal. You could probably do it pretty cheaply if you went to the junk yard.
Or, spend a bit more and get some hella JDM stuff, yo.
-
Some kid on the AZ Lexus facebook page was selling his for $3000 I think 160k. Auto. I considered it but think I'm going to get something manual and not so reliable instead. My Volvo decided to have a tantrum out of nowhere and start spewing oil all over the place after mysteriously stalling out on me. Pretty bummed since I like it and was enjoying a car with no hiccups.

Well... Its a lot more fun to drive. Had an eye on this car for a few weeks. Finally hit him up and he said he sold it. Buyer couldn't come up with the cash so I swooped in. Going back in a few weeks to get whatever tune he had done put in and a few m3 bits he had laying around. Giving away the Volvo today.

Very nice. Does your spit already have hookup for it?
what's that in english?
-
Think he meant "spot", not "spit". As in the 240V or whatever charger.
I can totally get behind Tesla, I just don't like that the car won't make vroom vroom noises. What are the range on those? 200 miles or so? I've been seeing them a lot more often on the road lately. A very, very good looking car. Now they just need to make them affordable to the average North American family (31k is the median new car purchase price) and they could easily be the best selling car here.
-
The new model is apparently starting at 35k USD
-
I've heard that. We'll see if they can make it happen, since there's been some conflicting reports about it. I'd totally consider one as an around town run about
-
yes i do have a charger installed at home at the carpark, which makes driving the car a joy. like most batteries, it's not good to always have it charged full/ fully depleted. there is a setting in the car (or via phone app) to set how full to charge the car, i've set mine to around 75% full, which gives 300km (190 miles) range. Since i got this car, however, i drive like a cunt. flooring every take off/ exiting corners followed by heavy braking just before a turn etc and mostly in the city with lots of traffic and lights, so i get around 220 km (140miles) range driving like that. i still haven't driven more than 100km (60miles) in a day, and to be honest, i haven't paid any attention to remaining range a week after i got my car. i have driven it gently, and it does go the range it says it has.
The wall charger that comes with the car (which you install at your own costs but its super easy for electricians, since it comes with a full manual that's super simple to understand) provides single phase 40amp at 220v (its adjustable to your needs) which gives 25 miles of range every hour of charge. you can schedule your car to only charge at times when electricity is cheap at night etc. The installation of the charger costed me USD 1.2k, including a thick gauge armoured copper wire at 10 metres long, from my electrical box to the location of charger, and a metal box to "protect" the charger. it's completely necessary as it turns out, that charging the car in heavy rain doesn't affect it at all. yes, my car and the charger are outdoor.
i've paid about USD 35 or so in extra electricity for the car per month, instead of the USD 380 in petrol i used to. and i used to drive the petrol car like riding brakeless i.e. gentle acceleration, lots of coasting, early gentle braking etc. but now, going down the road to the corner shop is an excuse to hop in the tesla. and i floor it every excuse i get.
the new one called model 3 is priced at USD 35k, but it isn't just targeting that segment of the market. a majority of new model S owners (myself included) actually moved wayyyyy up from price tags we'd normally consider (my petrol car is an audi A4, its less than half the price of the tesla i got. And it turns out i'm not an outlier but rather a majority), and i wouldn't be surprised if model 3 experiences the same. oil is cheap now so that argument isn't as strong, but a lot of people are just waiting for a good vehicle to escape oil dependency anyway.
if you guys have a tesla store nearby, go arrange a test drive. they're VERY happy letting people who have no intention to buy the car to test drive it - their marketing basically revolves around letting people try out the car and get excited to tell people about it, it's just that fucking good.

Got my wheels on today. Had issues with the tires that came with the wheels so I got 205/45/17 all around. Front could be a little lower without rubbing. Back is snug I might get spacers for the rear. Probably do an alignment tomorrow.

I'm going out test driving this week. My limit is 22000.
Top three thus far:

Scion iM is at the bottom of this list. Still a contender though.
The is250 I've read has a shitty manual trans. This one had a clutch in at 25k, it's at 45k now.
The ct200h is slow and has cvt.
The Veloster is a fucking Hyundai.
The scion is slow and sorta funky looking.
A gti would be cool but I've had such a sour taste from my vr and do not want to work on a fucking vehicle. I don't enjoy it.

Ready to chop out the engine mounts and test fit the new drive train. Cue Ford people panicking.
-
Gti is your best bet, VR engines are no more I've heard far less complaints out of the turbo engines other than the whole cam follower thing which might have been taken care of in newer models but I don't know for sure.

22k? Buy an AMG.

Anyone here got a foxbody mustang?
I do not, but I've been eyeing one up for a project car. I don't want to have to do a lot of body work on one, so that's severely limiting my choices, as clean ones are 8k+, and finding a stock one is near impossible.

Guy that towed my car to the shop asked if I was going to do an LS swap. I'm too broke for that but it would be cool. Looks like an awesome build.

Thanks man.
After completing my Corvette's rebuild (also based off an LS3) I don't think I'll ever build another project that isn't LS based, even if it isn't GM to start with. Can't wait to get this truck done - should be one hell of a cowboy cadillac.

That should be fun

I still have my 92 'vert. Hasn't left the garage in almost 5 months thanks to Winter. Hopefully have it back out this coming week.
Sold my notch project last summer.

It seems like a no brainer, despite the fact of me having one or not using oem body parts seems to suggest having one. However, my friend said he had no issues with an aftermarket bumper cover fitment. What's mfbs consensus on using an aftermarket hood and bumper cover?

me and germany never see eye to eye when it comes to repairing cooling systems on my own. i finished the task of fixing the water pump and thermostat housing and then the T connector broke inside of another hose and screwed me over. luckily i was able to limp home and get it parked before damage could occur. I decided to take it to a shop so they can fix it. I don't mind doing the work but i hate doing it in an apartment parking lot. So far they are almost done with it and said I'm $300 deep asked if i was cool i said yes sir. hopefully i have it back soon.
biggest headache with working on this car was the damn side skirts the previous owner put on. I appreciate wanting to do something different on the E36, and I do like the smooth more flat looking sides but I can't lift my car without having to get it on some wood then getting a jack under it. and it can only be held up in specific spots so that was a pain in the ass. anyway. should have this thing back soon. I will be ordering M3 sides if I don't blow too much getting it fixed then it's back to the M3 cams and tune that was supposed to happen this week.

I acknowledge your Barvarian coolant struggles. May proper circulation be with her.

Ear to ear grin man. Hard to imagine a more visceral driving experience than when I'm wheeling the vette.

I love the thought of running errands in an insanely impractical old 'Vette. I would be so happy to see someone bombing around to the shops in a car like that.

Think I'm going to get this later this week. https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/658129490/overview/
I offered 15500 and the dude emails me this:
"Wholesale value of the car alone is $17,700
Retail value is : $20,450
The selling price is $16,588 plus tax and licensing fees (roughly 12% additional) if you have a pre-approved loan thru your own bank.
Thanks
Sam"

I hate that dealers these days don't accept haggling.

I fixed my wife's crumpled up Kia door today. Switching our power window/power lock/power mirror to a manual bare bones door shell was a bitch. It's done now so I am happy. Having liability insurance has its ups and downs hah.

I have sadly today been reminded of when I was a child begging my mam to let me buy a car from the autotrader magazine. I had spotted an ad for a blue Ford Mondeo with big wheels and cool stickers. They wanted £900 She said no of course only for me years later to learn that the car was infact an early spare ex BTCC rolling shell. The one that got away.
-
Anyone here got a foxbody mustang?
Had one. Dad and I went halves on a no options 5.0L notch back. I got sick of paying insurance on a car I didn't drive and told him it was his. I've driven it a few times since then. For what they are, they're fun as hell.
-
I bought a c30 today. I like it.
-
As in a Volvo C30? I've always thought those were pretty cool cars. Are they deceivingly big inside? And what kind of engine is in there?
-
T5 turbo. It's decently fast 225hp 270?torque. Thinking about getting the polestar ecu tune from the dealer. 250ish and 300ish.
-
That's pretty neat. I feel like it's such an unappreciated car. Post some pictures when you have time
-
Those are nice. I sort of miss my Volvo although it wasn't manual and had a low pressure turbo it was still nice.

in the last 3 weeks i've replaced the rod selector, installed my m3 side skirts, put m wheels back on with the spacers thrown in the back, and got a bunch of shit from the junkyard. found intake parts, aftermarket heade r and some much needed speakers. going to be tearing out the dash and carpet from the junk car up the street to start making my interior all black. i will be getting black leather front seats next week without the power since my power seat is messed up. and i finally got my drivers side windwo to roll down. I also went and got most of the plstidip off my bumpers by hand which sucks but looks way better in my opinion than the off white colored bumpers. I'm doing my first ever HPDE thing on 23 and 24 April. Two day long auto cross school. Should be a pretty good time, really looking forward to doing the skid pad.

Yea i love the wagon. Most practical car ive owned. Put way too much money into it as of late though

broken english: Wagon looks good, holla at me if you ever need anything. I work at www.subimods.com (feel free to msg me on fb I go by steve wild on there)

With the slowdown of BG, Pirate is where I kill my time nowadays. HUGE bunch of bitches in the Ford forum there though. Grown ass men crying like lil girls.
4.56's in the rear for now, actually thinking of going to 4.11's. 500hp at the crank as is ... for NOW! Haven't even finished this and already am scoping the next build. Friggen sickness.

Badass
Friday night at ~3:30am my friend fell asleep at the wheel. We were less than a mile from my house when he lost control. I was sleeping also so it scared the shit out of me. The truck clipped a cement light pole and swerved up the embankment into a tree. It's absolutely incredible that we are both fine. The truck is totaled, frame rail pushed over ~8 inches

The E36 was becoming a headache due to me wanting more power and less modding. So I picked up this E39. Nobody really likes it but I needed it. I wanted something to just cruise around in. Yes it has silver vinyl wrap on the hood and no bumper. But the V8 moves when I want it to and getting around people is no longer an enjoyable chore. Plus the 3" straight pipe from the cat back is perfect for being ignorant when needed and quiet when I want it to be.(http://p.vitalbmx.com/photos/forums/2016/05/26/48443/s1200_WP_20160523_09_51_06_Pro.jpg)

Trail pimp, you gonna have that frame blasted? That should be cool. What drivetrain are you planning for it?
Yeah. I will have my cab on that chassis mid June then I need to do shockmounts, transmission cross member, fuel cell mount, compressor mount and tank mount and bed ounts. Then I'll be pulling everything off and sending it out to get blasted and epoxy coated then build it back up again.
I'm looking at dressing down an LS motor for it.

Have an LS3 in my 72 vette and went with the connect and cruise LS3 this time in the F100. Couldn't be simpler - 4 wire hookup with 480HP on tap.
-
I might end up with an LS (baby 4.8) by this weekend actually.
Switchero a few things and I should be in the 350 range which considering the rear end will be pretty light should be quite a bit of fun and not kill my wife when she drives it.

Started my projector retrofit last night, cause anybody who's ever owned silvia bricks knows the light output is non existent. I drive that car almost every day, and it sucks not being able to see anything. So I ordered some morimoto mini h1 projectors.

Would love to get a skyline. But they're so cost prohibitive here. Been looking into S15's lately, but it looks like insurance is going to be a massive pain in the ass where I live.
Yours looks great, and the underglow is super cool. Again, another thing I'd like to do with my FRS, but I can't be bothered to wire it all up.

I've spent thrown so much money away on that Volvo above. 3" downpipe to exhaust, 3" intake and intercooler piping, better intercooler, race axles from the Euro focus rs, and bought some wilwood fronts this week. It's making ~310hp 375ft-lb

I'm an absolute fucking disaster when it comes to cars
My late father's 86 El Camino, it's a rust bucket but I drove it halfway across the country last year. Picked up a non-rotted frame that I'm modifying so I can airbag it and lay it out, then replacing floors and quarters

Did you say you live in an apartment? How the hell so you manage so many vehicles?
They're in 4 different parts of the state. I have 2 driveway spots + a garage I pay extra for at my apartment. I do side work at my buddy's shop to pay for a bay inside there. Then the El Camino spends half the year in a storage unit up north (I split it with my mom and I put in a bunch of shelving so she can stash her shit while I park the truck or whatever vehicle), and the Impala is in my buddy's back yard. Sometimes I stash shit at my work. It's a lot to keep up with hahaha
-
@sokoloka I absolutely love that truck and can't believe I forgot about the creamsicle 2 tone. I really want a 71-73 in either the green/light green or brown/tan 2 tone. My grandfather had one in the green/green and my dad had the 80s Clubwagon in the brown/tan for half of my childhood. I gotta have the round headlights and one of those 2 schemes.

Business is still good?
Some volatility here and there but otherwise good. Keeping me busy so I can't complain.

Actually made it to a few drift events this year with the turbo Pinto. Had this car 11 and a half years now:

The AE86 was supposed to be my drift car but it decided to spin rod bearings on two 4AGEs last summer. Sitting in my garage with 2 grand worth of brand new upgraded suspension and no motor...

Oh well, at least it's basically rust free after I fixed the windshield frame and trunk seal area.

Oh man a crew cab 70s F2/350 is on my bucket list of dream rides for sure. Gonna be rocking my K2500 Suburban for quite a few years longer, at least long enough to buy property and then find and fix up something older. Put a lot of work into making it a reliable tow rig over the past few years considering it sat for a while before I got it. Seem to be getting close to caught up on maintenance and repairs finally.
Currently restoring the trailer I bought on the cheap a few years ago. Spent 8 days cutting and welding all of the rotted steel between the frame rails and walls, now I'm close to finishing rust proofing the frame so I can hopefully throw the new wood floor down this weekend. Then some repairs to the aluminum skin before I can get to work insulating it and reinstalling the inner walls. Then I can FINALLY start building a workbench, storage cabinets, and some camping gear into it. Finally can't see the tires from inside so that's quite a bit of progress.
