Does anyone care about this kind of stuff any more? If anyone does the first one has been landed on some ridiculously big kicker. Kinda cool

I love seeing people doing new stuff. Mad props to them to go that balls out, properly insane stuff! He almost clipped his head on the ramp in the first flip since he was flipping that hard.
I cannot imagine doing anything similar, just jumping that jump would be an insane feat for me, let alone quad flip it... Surprised they would risk so much for one trick.
-
Pfft, landed feet off on a resi. Doesn't count.
-
Feet got off after the landing to slow down, didnt take it off per se
-
Respect for doing it. But not my type of riding
-
Lookin like pumped bmx
-
Why would you want to do that to your body?
-
I must be getting old because I can't stand this stuff. Pastrana turns everything into a circus and people get hurt for no good reason. Look at the video--these guys are dangerously high by any standard, rotating fast, and landing hard. Every one of them is moments away from a life altering injury and Pastrana is just cheering them on because it isn't his health he's risking. I know they have the ability to opt out, but the action sports peer pressure wins every time and these guys can't back down for fear of being labeled weak. Colin Winkleman destroyed both his ankles and a wrist for one of Pastrana's dumb shows and ended up taking his own life a year or so later. I can't help but think his career ending crash had something to do with his suicide.
BMX isn't BMX when it becomes a circus act.

They must have the biggest balls ever to go for it, potentially have a life-altering injury, AND have to deal with American health care. "I'm $25.3 million in debt because they had to fuse my spine together, but it was gnarly almost landing that quad flip"
-
they make big money doing this shit but the risk is massive, and whole Xtreme image that its marketed with kind of sucks as thats what other people think bmx is like. nitro circus is an appropriate name though they really are making clowns of themselves.
and the competitive narrative on that video was pathetic.
i guess the hucking themselves to pull it at no matter what cost is kinda reminiscent of mat hoffman and miron and those guys in the early/mid 90s who were pushing the sport back then learning new stuff by just throwing themselves at it til it stuck, its just more on a motorcross scale ramp in this case. if they werent doing it for nitro circus publicity it would almost be kind of cool
-
I think it would be pretty cool if I could, you know, casually, double flip a box jump as part of a run through the park or in the right set of jumps.
-
Pretty ballsy even though backflips are the worst looking maneuver in the book. I see this type of thing as more of a Jackass the tv show type of stunt. It's kind of like rolling down a steep hill on a shopping cart.
-
I don't know man, I've seen some backflips people have done that I really wanted to do. Especially the worst looking trick piece. There might not be anyone doing cro magon no handers anymore, but we've all been affected.
-
I'd rather watch Chad Herrington
-
A big single flip would have looked loads better, probs 10 times harder to pull too.

Cam zinks 100 ft single flip on a mtb was cooler

That really sucked to hear about Winkleman. I'm trying to remember which show it was. It was just Jackass right? Pastrana wasn't involved with that? Nate Wessel built the ramp and attached it to the van?
-
Idk single flips can look so nice if it's slow on a longer jump.
-
It happened at Travis Pastrana's place in Maryland. He had a contest to pull the craziest clip at his compound. Sucks what happened to Winklemann... Crazy to think it was 10+ years ago that happened.

I'd rather watch Chad Herrington
Jarvy was talking about this dude yesterday when I saw him. Something about a one footer through the frame or something
-
Id rather watch Hamilton do a skid.

And under the frame, reaching the pedal again. Not to mention barhop to double saran wrap. Ride On is on YouTube if you want to check it out
-
yeah chad herrington was something else
-
He looked dramatic in that hug, but i know it's just dizziness.

It was for sure in one of the old nitro circus dvds before it was a tv show and before the tour shit.
