because the idea of continuing your linage for the sake of a name (and all things associated with it) perplexes me. How we get the concept that we need some sort of permanence in time and go about that by having a child for the rest of humanity to know we have existed is a terrible thing in my eyes.
Had I come from a family that had altered history much more than they have, it might be different. I don't hold close to that chance though, for as that pattern of thinking goes our genetic hubris at best should begin with ourselves. We've all been there though, "you're his brother?" "I can't believe I'm meeting a celebrity's child!". Count me out of the crowd that wants transcendence from the grave.
I come from a family with no real 'celebrity linkage', however, i hold pride in my family name, and no its probably not superior, but i'd also hate to see it dye off.
Is it the main reason i want a kid?? Shit no.
But its something that should make you proud in the grand scheme of things still.
