San Diego is where its at! LA is over priced, waaaaaay over crowded and full of dumbass rich fucks! Now, i know LA has some great offers, but for me, its miserable. I've lived in San Diego my whole life, and its great, although it is getting crowded too. North County San Diego is where its at, and is where i live. If you live a simple, minimal lifestyle its easy to make rent. I pay $700 for a small 450sq.ft. studio. Its 30-mins from the beach. The deals are out there, keep searching and you will find what your looking for. Plenty to ride, and not crazy expensive depending the the job you have. Although the closer to the coast, the more your going to pay. There is a great BMX community here, a lot of pro riders live here as well. Good skateparks, and some awesome trail spots, plenty of collage pussy too. If your into riding MTB its got some great spots as well.
Overall i wouldn't mess with LA. Riverside/San Bernardino is okay, but hot and haggard.
It all depends on where you can find a place to live. I can tell you right now, any place in California, is gona be better then where your at now. Make the move, see what happens, you can always go back to what you know.

I think its a great idea, almost all MTB and even road bikes now are running tubeless. It makes a lot of sense IMO. BMX freestyle would be a little tricky because of the stress on the tire and having to inflate can be a hassle as well as having to pump your tires up on a regular basis. I don't know why BMX race doesn't have some supper supple thin tubeless tires for elite racing.

No need for this thing anymore, to many bikes and frames collecting dust and not being ridden.
Frame is a 1989 San Marcos, CA built David Tesch S22 road frame-set. 56cm top-tube (c-c), 58cm Seat-tube (c-t).
Tesch spec True Temper tubing.
Frame is in good condition with no cracks in the tubing. Paint is in decent shape for its age, has scratches and a small TT dent. Overall in good condition.
$200 shipped to lower 48.

My advise is, load as much as possible on the front of the bike. Ideally you want a low trail bike, but any bike will do. I personally run the Surly front rack with a Wald basket attached to the top. This allows easy access to a lot of the stuff i need during the ride, and or quick stops.. Below that 2 panniers with gear. I also run a medium frame bag, which allows me to run two bottles in the triangle, along with a 3rd bottle on the underside of the DT. I also use a big backpacking saddle bag. This is my personal setup and it works quite well for me.
I carry a tarp with me, not a tent, its more useful, lighter and easier to pack. I also bring a bivy sack, which is used almost every night. No need for a tent IMO. The tarp comes out if the weather is shit, so i have a place to chill, cook, drink, whatever. Then slip in the bivy and call it a night.

Probably the reason why the new old school stuff is making a comeback, led by Haro. John is doing good things there and my Facebook is on fire with Haro pictures these days.
This is 100% right, IMO. BMX bikes now days are rock solid and about as simple as you can get. Yes, some new innovative products will be produced in the future, but for the most part BMX product innovation is done. The fact that there are too many BMX companies, manufacturing parts, out of the same factory's in Taiwan, will force many companies to go away. I don't think its going to be sustainable for many companies, and i believe a lot will be gone in the coming years. Haro is defiantly doing well by knocking on the hearts of the first generation of BMX enthusiasts. But its isn't sustainable either. I don't know a damn kid who wanted to ride a Haro from the mid 90's and newer. What then? The money that Haro is making off this old school trend, needs to be put back into BMX, but I know this will never happen, Haro is owned by a conglomerate that doesn't give two shits about BMX.
IMO the companies still alive today, need to pull away from the product and put into getting kids stoked on what BMX is about. How this is accomplished? Who fucking knows.

Zero negative remarks on LD stem, it rules, straight up! And honestly the looks don't bother me, but a lot of ppl who are not familiar with it are like "WTF is that"?!
