The Bike Shop / Re: Éclat Blind Freecoaster. First batch issues

The reloader drive side is only thicker if you mic it and that's barely. Fits perfectly in my opinion and now I trust it. Well, atleast that part of the hub. Who knows what's gonna happen next.  First Eclat product I've bought and probably the last now.  I'll keep the hub but after 4 years of testing this shut should have been all figured out.  I was told by Eclat early this morning it must have been "Over heat treated".

Discovered my compression cone(drive side) is cracked at 12 and 6. Grub screw being 3 o'clock. Sure glad my reloaders is the exact same size as I have 2.  Replacement pawls shipped tonight. I'll follow up.  I can't quit you jack.

The person who replied to you from eclat is a member on here. We've them at work and the feedback has been positive!

Cool, hopefully he can appreciate me informing others with pictures and know I'm not bad mouthing Eclat in anyway. still being positive about a product I will continue to ride after the fix. Not a lot of quality information on the Internet about it. So I'm providing something else other than the fuck a fuck you fuck this fuck that fuck responce on Ing and facebook

How is that blowing up? Dumdums made the Pawls sharp on production models. The fix is already underway. All I'm gonna do is grab a file for time being

The Bike Shop / Éclat Blind Freecoaster. First batch issues

I was beyond excited to see this pop up on Dans after YEARS of waiting. And everything was going fine until about 3 weeks in.

At first the issue was thought to be just a bad batch of springs and my conclusion after lurking the www and seeing ings from Shane Weston himself. I contacted Eclat and Dans. Dans was very quick with the response and after a 5 minute phone conversation with a employee who is also riding one I had 2 replacement springs on the way free of charge. Riding the backup spring that was included with the hub and only a dozen times since first contact i didn't really feel or hear much from the hub.

Then Finally today I received a email from Éclat.

Hi!

Sorry for the late reply. By the sounds of it you need new pawls and a
spring. We had a small faulty batch of springs on the first hubs, When
the
spring broke the pawls will have become sharp and broken the replacement
springs.

Please contact the shop where you purchased the hub and they will be
able
to get you these parts free of charge.

Can you please send me a photo of the pawls and the spring, that would
really help.

Thanks!

So I did.
Once I got home I took wheel, easily slid axle and driver out and had a feeling I knew what I was gonna see.
 1 pawl

Different pawl

Shell

Called back up Dans. New Pawls are "in transit" a week away from them so another 4 days from me.

But. Besides this shit. Love the hub!!!!!!!

Finally got to ride the little bike and Jesus H is it short. Need to boil or sand down the brakepads to grip. Need to figure out how to adjust the slack on my reloader and I NEED pegs. Being on the bike and riding I kept wishing it had pegs.
