Aesop Rock - Having rode a cruiser for a couple years, here's some thoughts. I'm swapping mine tomorrow (Honda Shadow Aero 750) for an older Honda CBR1000F as I don't like the foot forward riding position and lazy engine. If you do get a sportster or similar, get one with mid controls, not forward, I'm pretty sure my kidneys have been taking a hammering, plus there's no way to 'stand up' over bumps. I'd go with a Japanese bike with some sporting potential. Something like a Suzuki SV650/1000, Honda VFR.

i was looking at FSA Metropolis 2 speed crankset.

http://fairdalebikes.com/2010/12/fsa-metropolis-2-speed-crankset-review-sort-of/

Might be cool in conjunction with 2 or 3 speed rear hub.
i saw a place in the uk had it for 80 squids.

I was looking at the Fit Hartbreaker frame, and noticed that Fit can customize the geo for you. (customs page). I think the only change you'd have to do on that one is the BB height. They have an option for 11.7. Really cool looking frame. Some cool out there options too, like Mid or Euro BB, Chainstay, Seatstay, or V brake mounts. No doubt Gyro mount holes.

Customer relations is everything. I believe they should repair, refund, or replace it.
It's enough to put me off buying anything off Standard.

Be aware that the springs on the brake caliper tension in different directions, both towards the front of the bike. The left one is clockwise, the right one is anti clockwise.

Or you could use a new front hub that uses the pressed on bits instead of traditional cone nuts.
like the simian hub, the hubguards are designed to replace those bits on either side.

I like the springfields although I haven't had them long. I'm not mad on the squeeky ghost pads though. I would like to try pitbull brake pads with them.

I nwas looking into the difference between marmoset, and simian. seems simian has better hub guard option if that's an issue.
