Obviously you have no knowledge of firearms. This isn't the movies. People don't explode from getting shot with a shotgun, their body doesn't fly back thru brick walls and take out cars along the way. Read a little bit, do some research, use your head perhaps?

Shotguns are THE best home defense. As yacqueli noted, just the sound of one racking will make someone shit themselves and leave faster than they entered. If they do get hit with it they will go down and you can be sure the shots don't go thru them, walls and into someone else if you're using the proper ammunition.

No thanks. A shotgun is a shotgun. I don't need to wikipedia it or use my head to understand its potential. I realise that firearm ownership is so inherently a normal element in most American life and that it was pointless for me to even begin objecting to the idea of kids with shotguns. Rest assured I'll leave this party and take my 12 year old British views elsewhere, and leave you real men to masterbate over each other's 'home defence' systems.

Oh and thanks for thinking you've corrected my spelling, but unfortunately for you I've written it using British english spelling. You'll find there are many words with interchanging endings between our dialects. Read a little bit, do some research, use your head perhaps?

No.  I'm, sorry, but you are wrong.

There are many different kinds of shotguns.  I personally have a long barrel waterfowl gun that I have only used to shoot trap/skeet, and I can't imagine using it for self defense (not least is the fact it is locked up).  Huge difference between sport guns, small game guns, bird guns, self  defense guns, etc.  You literally do need to read up on this before posting opinions.

And honestly, people with a shotgun are pussies if the gun is used as self defense?  Since when does being prepared make you a pussy?

depends were in canada your from, back home most people i know own many guns and have no problems with them, now im staying down in van and it seems almost everyone is very uneducated on firearms and have a very anti gun attitude.
