Just to clarify.

A chain breaker is needed to cut the chain initially. However the joining link/half link have allen key pins for easy removal/adjustment.

Essentially the exact same principal to a regular chain with a joining link but much better.

I just bought a bluebird, will be rocking that until these will be available.
Sure thing i would pay the extra €€€ for a chain that saves my jewels knees and teeth.
My last chain was a KHE Collapse. Those will survive WW3. Beefy as fuck.
Now on a KMC not so kool 710 and have a bluebird ready to be built onto what will be my new bike.

If i snap the 510hx bluebird, the keychain should be more up for bashing and grinding which will make it a great investment for the 4pegged grind combo people.
Glad Odyssey never ventured into making halflink chains. Despite Odyssey's awesome reputation i'd never trust a halflink.

Halflinks stretch, halflinks break where they're bent, just depends if it's sooner or later. They kinda lack in every feature that make a chain a good chain. No superior tensile strenght over regular chains, i believe by FAR.
Just wraps around a 8t better.

Most chains these days are up for 9t, which is what 90% of the world runs anyway.
Halflinks look snazzy though- and it looks like the halflink chains now have worthy opponents in that part of the competition.
And tbh i don't even need to ride the keychain to be able say it's probably stronger than most halflink -or normal chains.

The halflink provided with the keychain will probably use the same thickness plate that the keychain does, so it should be expected that these halflinks will out-perform regular halflinks.

Pretty obvious just looking at the Keychain's half link that they put effort into designing a better half link to go with their chain.

I don't think Odyssey/Gsport does anything "under pressure" which is why they consistently put out parts with no gimmicks. It's pretty much a necessity to include a half link due to the shorter rear ends/smaller dropout slots that are around these days.

Odyssey key chain is out now. Apparently.
So this is ment to come with an chain tool adaptor for initially breaking it to size is that right?

For the hollow pin yes. Not needed on the solid version.

The real question is...  Will if fit my Model C??

Yes unless you have a crazy gear like 33/10 or something.

It would be interesting to see what tool is needed to break this chain.

If the slot or hole that you push the pin out into is over 5mm then you are fine.

We will be doing a specific tool which will be very affordable though.

However, you can also break the hollow pin version using just the supplied adaptor and a bench vice:

I'm sure they'll be sick, but what do think about those prices?

The price is as low as we can make it. Please bear in mind that this chain has been in development for 8 years and we have spent many many tens of thousands of dollars on tooling.

It is also worth mentioning that if you have a bench vice and an old brake nut then you will never need a chain tool (see above videos) and even a cheap chain tool added to the cost of a normal chain is a similar price and cheap chain tools do tend to get broken and good chain tools are pretty expensive. So in my opinion makes more sense to spend the money on a better chain.

Hollow version is 300g, solid is 335g I think. However the hollow pin is also a little bit harder to push the pins out of because the hole through the middle makes it easier to rivet the ends over extra hard. I would highly recommend the hollow pin version as it is lighter AND even stronger, AND using the above tricks you don't need a chainbreaker.

I'm not as excited as other people about the chain as I don't grind anymore and haven't snapped a chain without grinding on it before, but seeing it then it looks awesome.

I'm really tempted for one for my SS as I put a lot of torque through it on climbs, but I imagine it wouldn't be long enough and I'd need two?
