i wouldnt say photographic film is quite comparable to dv tapes when dealing with old vs modern processing of content, cos your still gonna upload those tapes into a computer and edit using the same software youd use to edit HD video clips (or are you using a 2000 era imac with the appropriate "vintage" copy of premier?).
developing photographs is a totally independent process (even if you eventually scan them into the computer later).

whatevs, people should film with what they want, but the fact that something was filmed on a vx alone aint gonna get me hard, sorry
this year i am going to have sex and it will be awesome

Photographers still shoot with black and white film and develop it themselves in their bathrooms (You think capturing tapes is a pain in the ass?). They do that even though we have access to full frame digital cameras that far surpass the resolving power of most film formats and basically have no flaws at this point.

Even if it isn't the best way of doing it, it doesn't make it wrong.

I don't think anyone thinks it's wrong, there is a time and place for everything. The whole VX thing seems like someone using something a Leica to take a normal selfie in their bathroom on auto settings.

I would rather refer it to using an disposable camera for a studio shoot and calling it art when its just crap.
