My knees are killing. Feel like they're bruised at the top, behind the knee cap. Going to move my seat forward, slide my right cleat back and see if that helps.

I need a new colour for the Orange. Fed up of the raw/pink combo and I'll be pulling it apart to replace the bearings and paint the fork lowers black.

Give me some ideas....

Just do it all black, you'll get bored of anything else.

Yeah blacks a safe bet, could always add some colour at s later date with grips, pedals or saddle.

Doing my first 100 mile + ride next Saturday. I'm getting the train down to London on Friday night then riding all the way back in the morning. Any tips for longer rides? I will grab a few energy bars/gels from work and will be chucking another bottle cage on for more water.

How it is at the moment.

I quite like the idea of camouflage, would be tricky to get it looking good though.

Whatever colour frame you like, black rear end. Camo frame with black rear would look pretty cool.

Danno, take loads of food and try eat every hour. Don't bother with too many gels, you'll get an upset stomach. Real food is best. Anything with sugar and carbs works. Make sure to pace yourself too. Blowing up after 40 miles would suck.

Even just an olive drab with all that black would look pretty cool.

Yeah Danno, loads of flapjacks and cereal bars should do the trick, maybe a couple of gels for towards the end, stop 60 ish miles in for some cake and a coffee or something too to break it up a bit.

Definitely don't smash it too early, set a chilled pace and stick to it. Nothing worse than bonking 25 miles from home, forgot the PBs and KOMs that day.

Me likes! Colour is lovely.

So rather than painting the Orange I might have got a good deal on a Transition Bottlerocket............oops

Orange & Marz 55s have now been sold and picking the transition up next week, coupling it with a pair of dual air revelations. I know the Bottlerocket maybe an odd choice from the Orange but there was something about it that just drew me in.

Bottlerockets look so much fun, I nearly got one myself but knew that for the riding I was doing it would have been useless. Wish I still had my Mondraker, might have to get another MTB for next summer.

I know it will climb like shit, but I'm pretty confident that it will plough through the downs and flowing sections of trails......now to plan a trip to bpw

They're and acquired taste them Mondrakers. Got my eye on a Transiton Scout, I did want a Patrol but realistically I'm not full enduro. I don't get out on the mtb enough or live close enough to go session trails, I tend to just drive somewhere and get some miles in.

Anyone done LEJOG? Been looking at getting in it the diary for next spring.
