fell in love with the elementary stem the moment i saw it online. bought a v1 and used it, bought a v2 when it came out just to put on a shelf, bought the v3 when it came out and swapped onto my bike. the v1 is now on the shelf just for me to look at. beautiful piece of engineering, not just from the functional perspective, but also how it's designed to make manufacturing it easily. if you video the manufacturing process it'd be like those industryporn vids.

oh, stuff i hate? a lot of products in BMX are still quite shit yet popular. its the idea of some younger kids thinking one part is superior than the next because of whoever pro is riding that brand, or buying into the gimmicky ideas that those companies sell that i hate. This hate, whilst mild, is more on a spiritual level than material.

EDIT: also KHE integrated stem and bars for street riding. on top of how it's a silly idea (which may have had a chance of being well excuted and can fit certain people), it's SO BADLY MADE.

This. It is what I dislike most of the BMX industry, how it is so based on marketing (which I feel teams are a part of). Just good design and build doesnt cut it.

Fit indent cranks look like they're stamped out of a tin can. They look like they were built with manufacturing in mind, not with design in mind.

heavy monster truck tires
tires with near no material on the sidewalls
microknobbies that tear one right after another
khe tires that only come in one size, 2.15
36hole odsy midways and other superheavy duty rims and hubs being in 36h
dropdown frontload stems in conjunction with highrise bars
really fucking wide bars
deluxe grips that look like old corey martinez grips but are made of shit material
vans/cult grips feel like shit
shitty plastic barends
tiny pedals (flys)
premium pedal spindles are always bent
halflink chains
sprockets that have a design that looks like 5 bolt holes but only one of them actually is a bolt hole
forks that dont fit pegs (pitchforks)
elementary stem - cracked my sharp bars at the knurling, would not grip my odsy lumberjacks
lumberjack bars - same geometry as my slam bars but feels like shit

KHE in general. I have never hated a company as much as this, but its based on the fact that way back when they denied that there was anything wrong with their terribly weak and awful products.

Wow great read blueeee!
Since I ride flat I'll chime in
Rims with a sharp profile that dig into your hands when you grab them
Knobby tires
Maxxis Mirracle tires- those were the slowest f*cking rolling tires I ever felt. Ridiculous
Bars with high crossbars
Kmc 410 chains-snapped the plates off a few times on these
Bottom brackets that come with a heavy ass steel tube spacer versus the actual good quality ones that include a light aluminum spacer (but who cares I don't even run a tube spacer anymore)
Seats that don't have a good ridge on the underside that make it hard as shit to grab (most tripod seats, the animal Nigel seat, and lots of others)
Low TT scooter frames
Bent downtube frames
Frames that only come in 3/8"
Frames with removable mounts (brakeless all the way)
Any non-odyssey fork (they all crack)
Heat treated frames (they all crack)
Frames still coming out in <19" sizes
Bars still coming out in <9" (the new Hoffman flat bars are 8" what p*ssies)

That's it for now

Yeah this so much, then they chop the nose off.

I forgot to add Eclat's Phantom rim to my list, just complete and utter shit. The tighter you get the spokes the weaker the wheel becomes, I can bend the fucker with my hands. Not too mention the quality of the rim itself. The spokes holes were left rough as hell after drilling they tore up quite a few nipples before I realized the problem, thought I just had a bad batch of nipples.

Tall bars, there is NOTHING out there for 25x7.75 anymore because of stupid 12 year olds buying bars that are way too big for them cuz they're cool

Halflink chains

1pc seat/post combos

Overly large tires and the fact that 2.1s are impossible to find when both of my frames pretty much require that size

36h EVERYTHING. I like 48h in the rear because it needs way less maintenance and I can't feel a weight difference

Drivers smaller than 10t

Compression bolts that do not accept a 6mm allen

Anything that takes odd size allen bolts - I'm looking at you Profile
