I finally got a Springfield Armory...not an M1A yet though!

Springfield Armory Model 1888 Trapdoor 45-70 Govt

This beast is not a replica and fetches 2-3k from collectors!  Can't wait to shoot it.

very nice. now complete the collection with a 1903 and an m1.

It happens all the time.  These incidents just don't get much media attention.

You gotta be prepared in this day and age.

Has anyone ordered from http://www.budsgunshop.com/ ??

Also, the Ace Hardware store in town sells guns, and you can put them on lay-away so I guess I will own something sooner or later. Can't wait.

I may go there tomorrow to check out what they have, and talk to them. Figure out how much I need to put down to reserve one, and we'll see what comes out of it.

I put a hundred rounds thru the G27 at the range not too long ago and it fits fine in my hand. Having the option of keeping it tiny and the option of adding the larger magazines (G22/G23) is what really sold me on the subcompact Glocks. Shit, even the 33rd magazine will fit in it. The Glock system is pretty dialed. Going with the .40 also leaves the option of swapping out a .357, 9mm or 10mm barrel in turn making it three guns in one. And taking that and pairing it with the longer mags that makes it even more in one. I like the ability of concealment with ease even though getting a CCW is going to be impossible for me due to location.

Corey just picked up a SIG P220, I'm paying for my Glock 27 on Friday and picking it up (hopefully everything goes thru without any problems) ten days later. That gives you plenty of time to get down here to play with us.

That's what I plan on doing.  Right now it seems like it's going to be between the Glock 22 and the .40 Springfield XDM.

Search nutnfancy on youtube and check out some of his table top reviews. Amazingly detailed and a honest unbias review on a ton of guns as well as knives and other carry items. I believe he has a review of both the Glock 22 (if not one of the similar models) and an XDM. I could be wrong. Either way he shares a huge amount of knowledge on many types of guns. Always a good watch even if it isn't one you're looking into.

Is that 10 days the waiting period?

If so, that's crazy. I bought my pistol a month or so ago and the waiting period was about 10 minutes.

Yeah, its ridiculous here in CA. Heavy restrictions and an absurd amount of time to have to wait. If I really wanted to be violent I sure as hell wouldn't go buy a gun at a gun shop and have it registered in my name. We also have a 10 round max per magazine here which is another reason I'm going with the Glock 27 9+1

I understand why there's a cool off period and I back it. But 10 days? What a crock of shit. We also have to wait thirty days in between buying handguns. Why? No clue. I think the cool off period is fine for your first gun. Shoulsn't be the case for the 2nd or third and so on. Why go buy a gun to handle business when I already have one? Hello! The people who make these rules are retarded. Next election I'm voting for a technocrat.
