This picture has severely changed me as a person.

The green ammo box, with the bright red shells strapped to the gun, along with the crisp black gloss of the shotgun itself...

Let's just say I want what you're having.

All of you foreigners, the ones who show their ignorance on the forums, who clearly don't understand how America is, just shut the fuck up.

What gun?  What ammo?  Rate of fire?

As for the scoring, I don't know much about it.  Does the small 'x' in the ten spot count as ten or is it more?

Sauer 200 STR rifle, probably 6,5mmx55 ammo. pretty slow rate of fire since it was in a competition.

theres no point-difference between a ten and an inner-ten, except if two guys have the same score but one of them have an inner more - he wins.

So why again are my shooting results "shitty"?

There's a difference between slow shooting a bolt-action, purpose-built target rifle versus quick firing a semi-auto battle rifle with close quarter sights.

Your 249 score is very respectable but we're talking two different scenarios.  Until I get my rifle fine-tuned for long distance shooting I'm happy with a group that will easily take man or animal down in one shot.

I wish mine was full-auto.  I don't think I could afford the ammo though.

There's different type rifles for different situations, and for good reason.  It also gives me more reasons to purchase more guns. :D

Normally I don't mind your posts, but you can't speak of ignorance, then tell people to shut the fuck up.

As it is Americans seem to be living in fear of getting shot, so you get a gun.

well, obviously. but banning them won't make any difference, it's a pretty lawless country in places, allot worse than the uk. plus look at the size of the place... there's plenty of nutty militia types who'd form small army's in the woods to protect their right to bear arms. if i lived in the sates i'd defo have a gun at home, in the same way i have a double lock on my front door in the uk.

I'm glad guns are illegal in the uk.

not all guns are illegal, several of my friends have shotguns and all the required permits. hell, one of my mates is a gunsmith!

half of my street probably own shotguns/rifles for hunting and general recreational puroses, nothing too unusual considering i'm pretty much living in the sticks at the moment.

I think that's one of the more overlooked aspects of gun culture in the United States. A fair portion of people are recreational hunters, much like there are in other parts of the world. The only problem is for every person who might own a shotgun for bird hunting, there is someone who believes that a crime will be committed because of it. I would be inclined to say that the media plays a hand in it, but that would be an over generalization.

Target shooting, hunting, self-defense.

Going out and blasting off a few rounds is amazingly therapeutic.

Yeah, target shooting I get. Huting with a magnum or m4a1, I don't buy that.

"Self defence" is so American, haha. Were I live I don't need to defend myself :)

Self defense isn't American, it's human nature.
We've just taken it to another level.
