Lookin' good, did you put in the LPK, I thought it was quite fun and interesting to learn how the hammers and springs and shit function.

Yeah, I got the lower completely stripped and put it together. Went great until I launched the front takedown pin detent straight into the air. Thought I lost it but it landed right on the work bench next to my tool box. They go together really fast and easy though with good instructions.

Yea for sure, I almost had a flying spring problem but it hit the ceiling and landed in my box so I was good.  I really want to build my upper but I am not competent with headspace and all that necessary stuff.

Don't know if you've seen this Neckbeard, but Brownells has complete videos online for assembling an AR. Here's the link: http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/lid=11004/guntechdetail/How_to_Build_An_AR-15_Video

I found the Brownells site very helpful when putting together my lower.

So how much is an AR-15 going to run you? Just out of curiosity, like...

Mine will be just shy of $3K with optics.  Tax return will fund the upper and optic.

Man, I thought this thread had died...

I know it's only a toy, but I recently got a sweet new RPK airsoft gun, that's a very faithful replica so I'm told.

Tonight I will stain the wooded stock black. I sanded and stained the foregrip parts last night.

I surface ground and radius'd my 10/22 bolt today. Only had to take off a few tenths per side to clean it all up. I only did the faces that contact the trigger housing and receiver. I'm going to engrave the side then polish it all up.

Gun show this weekend!!! I want to pick up a Kidd Charging Handle in silver, and possibly a trigger assembly. I'll also be looking for a 1911 steel forging or casting. I need to finish this damn 1911!

What will you write?

Given the opportunity I would probably write "BAD MOTHER FUCKER".

Has anyone ordered ammo online? Experiences? Good sites to check out?

Buying ammo online is tough in IL because a lot of dealers dont like dealing with a FOID card, but it can be done.

ABLE AMMO is good.

Check out local gun shops for good deals.  Dicks Sporting Goods doesnt price gouge as much as other big chains.

Wal Mart is the best.
