a friend wants to sell me a shotgun, mossberg 500 tactical, pistol grip and collapsable stock for $150, hes fired maybe 20 or so rounds through it.

I want something in case I have an intruder that gets past my large loud and intimidating dog. i want it more for the scare factor.

“one of the most frightening sounds an assailant can hear is the sound of a shell being jacked into the chamber of a Mossberg pump.”

i don't ever want to have to use it on someone. but I live in kind of a shady neighborhood where tweekers and crackheads love to hang around steal shit. I want to keep my shit.

good buy, or no?

Yes! BUY THAT. Good deal. Mossberg's are pretty good. The 500's sometimes need some polishing on the internals but they are reliable even without.

Got the Gerber Paraframe for my daily knife. Got the Ka-Bar as well. Not sure of model for it but its a nice knife. Also have the collapsible US army spade and bayonet/basic combat knife with sheath in my collection. Have a few others but they are at the other house.

Yacqueli/Couch, do either of you know what the major differences are between the Daniel Defense M4V2 and V3?  Their website doesn't do a great job of differentiating between the two.

Just a quick read on the DD site and it looks like the main difference is the rail length and the gas system. I don't really know all that much about AR's though to be honest.

That is an M1 Garand Bayonet.  It was probably made by KaBar but its not the original Marine Issued KaBar from WWII that I think of when I hear KaBar.

Its still an awesome piece, and collection.  Ill post mine when I get a chance.

Sorry for the double post...but to my knowledge the Mariner is nickel plated, and although it looks awesome, it weighs a fucking ton and there are a lot of problems with the nickel coming off very quickly.
