It's a tire that is far too narrow for the rim it was put on. And it works very poorly. Lots of guys do it because, apparently, this is some kind of modern automotive fashion statement.

I still think it's ridiculous, and have yet to hear one competent argument confirming there is some kind of advantage to running skinny tires on wide rims.

have you ever owned a vdub?

if not then you prob wont understand it. its a euro thing and chicanos do it on lowriders ehh

its still dumb as fuck. I admit, some stretch looks good, but if the god damn bead isnt even touching the lip of the rim, its just plain retarded.

One of the best cars of a crap time for cars; The Turbo Trans Am.
Came with the GNX drivetrain in the lighter more nimble Trans Am. I wish i could get one but they are hard to obtain.

granted this post is a couple pages back im still going to reply. stretched tires are for drifting, plain and simple. the stretched tires make the car more nimble (sp?) which would make for a better drift car. FWD's that have stretched tires are for looks. thats about it. a couple sizes down will look good and be safe to drive on compared to the guys that run tires for doughnuts on 13x10's
