I'm so glad about how this thread has turned. Bunsincunsin, you really show a lot of craftmanship in your work, which is becoming more and more rare. Keep up the rad work! I'm looking into brazing a new frame for the girlfriend here soon, so I'll through pictures when it's done!

I sew a lot.  I've made belt toolbags, U-lock holsters, iPod cases, and a bunch of other useful accessory-type stuff.  Right now I'm perfecting a design for toe strap doublers.

I'd really like to see some of that!

As for building a house, congratulations man. That's definitely on my to do list.

That longboard looks extremely nice built up.

I'm in the process of my apprenticeship as a Journeyman. Nothing spectacular, just some stab pins for a job, since my mother wanted to know what I was learning. Since shes curious like that.

These get hardened, Ground, then black oxidized. (Basically Gun Blue)

They end up coming out of bushings to check certain areas of parts to make sure they are to tolerance/size. Stab pins made from 0-1.

I have built a house, My light rack for my plow truck, and numerous remodels of homes. Working with your hands is so gratifying.

Hey, thanks a lot.  I really appreciate the compliments.  There will be more fun projects to come for sure.

For me, besides riding/using the things I've made, making things by hand is probably the most enjoyment I get out of anything.  I have no clue what I want to do with my life or what type of career I would like.  But, the more I hand-make things the more I lean towards a craft like woodworking or metalworking (handmade things specifically).

Keep me posted on this and be sure to document the progress!  Have you made a frame before?

Im sorta in the same boat, but I don't really want to make my hobby into my career and get burned out on it.

bmxfreebird, it's really cool to see other designers here, that bike is amazing. Here's some of the stuff I've designed/co-designed (I've posted most of these in the art thread, but I'll post them again).
