You are ambitious! I'm planning on creating some obstacles in my own garage this winter, probably starting with a ledge or two and a mellow bank to play on. How much vertical space do you have to work with?

4.5' tranny with 5' height? That would be over-vert.

Yeah srsly, you must mean 5' tranny radius, 4.5' high, right?

Definately harder, but might be more interesting with a bowl-type setup, so you can carve a bit instead of just going up a straight quater and hit the ceiling.

You're taking a jack hammer to the foundation right?

I used to have small ramps above my parent's garage back in the day. It wasn't much, but it allowed me to ride trough the winter and was a blast. Unfortunately I don't have photos, but here's a video of me from 2006 that shows some of the ramps.

I guess technically since I own my house, I could take a jack hammer to the foundation and dig it out to make for a bowl giving me some more vertical space to work with.  I probably don't have the time to do that this winter as the slow season at work is turning out to not be very slow, but this has definitely got me thinking about the possibilities.

Yup! Maybe premptively plumb the concaved area for some hottub/garage grotto after bmx is gone.

Here's the ramps we had in our house back in the day.  It's a whole part but there's a large chunk of footage from the ramps.

That makes me happy just seeing how tight they are, but still look fun.

Any idea on the height of that quarter or the radius size on either of those?

Henry, do you know that band? It sounds very very familiar. Maybe it's because it's like many other hardcore but it's going to drive me crazy thinking I know who it is.

I highly enjoyed that. Brought back memories of my youth and motivated me to dust my bike off.

I measured it late last night, and I've got 8 feet and 2 inches to work with before the ceiling.

The lady is off work tonight, so she's picking up the kid from school, and I'm hoping I have some more time to work in the garage tonight.

It's been super rainy in Raleigh lately, so it would be good to have a place to ride soon.

Got a little bit of time in over the weekend.  Went with a 2 foot tall box on the door side with a 3ft4in radius for the quarter.  Doing a 8ft tall vert wall on the opposite side with a 5 foot radius and 3 feet of vert.

Got the ribs for the opposite side done this weekend.  I have yet to buy anything for these ramps except for screws.  I'm hoping that I can get the window side wall and the bowl corners done with the scrap that I have, and then just have to buy the face wood to finish everything.
