2016 T1 Barcode "sand" in tubes?
« on: July 01, 2016, 08:04:06 PM »
I got my Barcode today after preordering it 5 months ago. When i tilt the frame, it sounds like sand in the seat or chain stays, both of which are closed so it can't come out. What the fuck?

It'll probably be metal shavings or slag or some shit. If you shake it around enough and it could come out at the bb junction. If you can narrow it down to one tube you could tape off the other vent holes so it doesn't go into a different tube when you shake it out. You could try fuck about with a magnet to pull it out or at least guide it to a vent hole.

I sorta am not stoked on my barcode. Magnet idea sounds excellent though.

The holes are closed though, i'd have to drill a tube to get the shit out.

make a small hole where either the top or down tube connect to the head tube or bottom bracket, squirt in some some type of glue.... problem solved...

If you have a hole in the tube fill it with expanding foam.

Shame, but really there's a large possibility that it's just slag from a weld that broke off.

I'm picky about little shit so i emailed T1. Joe Rich is an awesome guy and is sorting it out for me.  Can't say enough good things about the high level of customer service i received.

After reading this thred I definitely checked my brand new Code for any bits inside it. When I shook it, I heard a little something. Since I've built it up I can't hear it while riding.
